A lovely family memory, and great value

The owner was very helpful, giving us useful information before we arrived and making good suggestions for getting the best from our stay. The apartment was clean and well-appointed, really good value for money. The children had plenty of space of their own, including their own bathroom, while we had a very comfortable double bedroom with en suite bathroom. The on-site management company were very friendly and helpful. The facilities at Flamingo were also good - a well-maintained pool 20 meters from the apartment and other, larger pools close by, as well as a tennis court, an ok restaurant and other facilities we didn't make use of. We didn't have a car (apart from renting one - locally, cheaply and easily - for a couple of days to get out sight-seeing) but found the free shuttle service to a nearby beach very handy, and the dolmus buses to Bodrum and elsewhere very reliable. Highlights included a guided tour round Ephesus (arranged by No Frills in Selcuk) and a wonderful boat-trip which we booked through the nearby Ocean View cafe. We met at the cafe and were driven to the boat in nearby Bogazici, then had a full day out (including lunch and stops for us to swim from the boat) for 50 lire a head - about what a meal in a Bodrum restaurant would cost. I have stayed with my wife and 3 children 8,12,16 and had grat 2 weeks. regular bus takes you to Bodrum for 5 lira. nearby beach with luxury Gazebo(book in advance ) with free taxi transferes. overall its a great site with nice pools which not getting crowded and weekly BBQ. Jason is a Gentleman with prompt responce and happy to help. get cheap CAR hire and taxi transferes from site which will come a lot cheaper … see more

Outstanding

My husband and I booke a3 week holiday, and we were not disappointed. From booking our holiday to the end of our stay the owner Mubina could not be more helpful (better than any travel agent). She was very helpful, informative and looked after us from start to finish. The apartment was better than shown, outstanding, immaculate, fully equipped for your every need. The views from the balcony were to "die for" every morning you woke up. Pool to ourselves as it was late season.Grounds were maintained to a high standard. Bar across road for small items, but down road new supermarket which sold everything. Bus service into Bodrum ran daily, cheap in price. It was our little bit of heaven for 3 weeks, will be back. Peaceful

I booked my holiday through Holidaylettings having lived on the Turquoise Estate in 2009. I was keen to go back but to try the Flamengo site. The payment through the lettings company was very easy and such a smooth transaction i was a little worried at how easy it was. The coomunication from the Owners was great. They answered all enquiries quickly. We booked our flights seperately through Monach and airport transfer through Karia travel in Bodrum. It cost £30 for a return transfer from door to door from the airport to the apartment and again this was surprisingly smooth. The apartment on arrival was clean and the decor was very tidy. The soft furnishing were nicely chosen. I was really pleased with the key safe as it made the whole thing so easy. The area we stayed in was pretty quite, we had the poor practically to ourselves the whole time we were there. Downside, there was no shops open on site to obtain food and we landed at 9.30 so we were hungry by the time we arrived at the apartment. Migros is a bit of a walk but up those hills, definately good for your bum and thighs. My friend and i did a weekly shop that costs us £80 in total. They must still be on 'turkish prices' because that is a bargain compared to shopping in the Carefour near Bodrum. The taxi from Migros to the apartment was 10 lira (aprox 4.50) which we were happy with rather than having to wheel our trolley along the road in stupid degre heat. We ventured out to the Sunset Cafe twice for dinner in the evening. For both of us to eat a two course meal including drinks worked out at 37 lira. Ridiculously cheap! Overall the holiday was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. I would not hesitate to book here again and i am thinking of taking friends back next year. Fantastic holiday and a beautiful location

My boyfriend and I stayed in Melissa 23 apartment for just under a fortnight in June 2012. We had a fabulous time. It was our first time on holiday without parents / "proper" adults, so we were a little nervous. The owner of the apartment was really helpful from the off. As he only lives about 30 miles from us, he met us a few days before we were flying to let us have the keys to the apartment and answered all our last minute questions. He also booked the taxi for the airport transfer for us. The apartment is lovely, very clean and spacious – I think the owner also owns the upstairs apartment, which would be perfect if two families wanted to go on holiday together. There are 3 complexes in close proximity, and a large number of pools to choose from. As it was outside the school holidays, the complex was quiet and we actually had a pool to ourselves one day. The apartment has a great view over the lake and I actually cooked on a couple of occasions and we ate outside in the garden, which was very pleasant. Each complex has its own restaurant and we tried them all. The Turquoise Restaurant was my favourite and we ate there several nights. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment or there is a bus that runs between the three sites, which takes you there. They have a lot of events in the evenings, so definitely well worth a try. It has a good atmosphere and really nice food at reasonable prices. Would highly recommend it. After eating out, our favourite place to spend the evenings was the Ocean View Bar & Café – food (snacks) and drink was fairly cheap – wine 15/20 lira per bottle, Raki (Pernod) and mixer 6 lira, Magners 10 lira. The place has a lovely atmosphere. It also has a mini shop which is really useful for essentials. Mehmet, one of the staff, is so helpful and a genuinely lovely person, willing to do anything for anyone. The Royal Heights restaurant was a bit more expensive than the other restaurants but had beautiful views. Again, the bus can take you but it is only a short walk. Out of the two, I'd definitely recommend the Turquoise Restaurant. There is a spa at Royal Heights. My boyfriend booked a Turkish bath and massage for us as my birthday present. It was 50 lira (about £18) per person. However, beware as they do try to suggest you need further help, i.e. back problems, just to get more money. Would definitely recommend the spa to relax and enjoy. There is also an infinity pool at Royal Heights – fantastic to look out onto the sea and beach below. There is a big new supermarket across the road from Flamingo Country Club which sold all types of food and essentials. Prices varied but on average was good value for money. Very handy and you can get the ice-creams back before they melt! The Sunset Café, just past the supermarket, also served fabulous food – it is also surrounded by other little shops such as fruit and souvenir shops. Perhaps the most enjoyable experience of all was a place called My Beach. You need to book but it's a little private beach with mini huts on. You can spend the whole day there (there is also a restaurant, which serves great breakfasts). It's very, very popular and definitely worth booking – and it's free! The beach only has a little sand but has easy access to the sea. The restaurant is not too expensive and the staff are very pleasant. You have to access it by taxi but there is a free one that takes you there. Just ask Mehmet at Ocean View Café and he'll arrange it for you. (Send him my love!). We also took the local bus one day into Bodrum; the service is very regular and it was nice to mix with the local villagers on the bus. Bodrum is a very lively place with lots of good restaurants and shopping – well worth spending the day there. Overall, a fantastic place to stay, brilliant for couples and families and I'd definitely go again as it had everything I wanted. … see more
