The spacious multi-level apartment is situated in the heart of Funchal just two steps from the Cathedral and 3 minutes from the ocean. Professionally interior designed in the tradition of Portuguese-style notes, but with the amenities of a modern home, the apartment feels like the heart of the art life of the capital. The apartment, with its own street entrance, is part of the art gallery Funchalet, which is located on the ground floor in the same building. In a small special attic of the house is an artist´s workshop, where guests can enjoy the creativity of old Funchal and even draw at their leisure.
The house can comfortably receive families or friends up to 6 people. It offers a main bedroom suite with a large veranda and adjoining bathroom, a further bedroom for two people with private bathroom, and a first floor living room studio with a fully equipped kitchenette, dining area and comfortable sofa bed. The top floor workshop-lounge area has its own balcony and a view of the historic area of Funchal. We even have a hair drier, iron, ironing board for your comfortable staying. Shampoo, shower gel, detergents are included. All the floors are separated by a stunning spiral staircase hallway, but which could possibly create difficulties for some persons with disabilities. Similarly, we do not recommend families with small children booking with us. We allow guests with small pets.

Location is in the quaintly narrow traffic-free street Queimada da Cima, but which is one of the most important pedestrian routes through the city centre. However, after 6 pm active urban life moves to other neighbourhoods, and this comfortable house becomes immersed in the peace and quiet of a seaside town.
Just a minute's walk away are the most famous architectural sights and museums in Funchal: the Cathedral Sé, Museum of Religious Art, the Embroidery Museum, São Tiago Fort and Museum of Contemporary Art. There is also the very interesting architecture and décor of the theatre Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias, where concerts and major cultural events occur throughout the year. Two large urban parks close by provide a cool and becoming place for romantic walks among sub-tropical gardens. Nearby there are a full range of grocery stores and fruit & vegetable shops with local bio-products, and also the famous city indoor market, where guests can always buy freshly caught fish, exotic fruits, flowers and seeds. Just seven minutes away is a large shopping centre La Vie (until 2015 Dolce Vita) with its up-market modern supermarket and three floors of a variety of chic shops. And certainly a welcome addition to anyone´s study of the capital will be the adjacent and most famous historic wine factory Blandy Madeira and Oliveira.

As the house is located in the historic and pedestrianised area of the town, it is forbidden to travel within it by car, except for Sunday and evening hours * after 10pm. This can create difficulties for travellers with heavy luggage. We offer to meet guests near the main entrance of the Museum of Sacred Art and help you with your luggage to reach the house on foot - it takes only about 1½ minutes.
From the airport you can use the shuttle bus Aerobus (every 45 minutes).The cost is 5 euros per person. Our stop is number 6. This is about five minutes´ walk to our house. Follow directions to the Cathedral Sé.
Our house does not have parking, but there are many possibilities to park the car. After seven in the evening and until eight in the morning you can park your car for free at the municipal parking lot, it's only half a minute from our house. For a short time, after seven in the evening and until ten in the morning you can park the car right next to the house. In addition, not far, about 5 minutes walk has a city parking, where you can leave the car until the morning for 4 euros. We are happy to show you on the spot all these opportunities.
