“Paradise” Ratnakara is a luxurious, large and comfortable villa. Set amongst a jungle full of monkeys and beautiful rocky bays. There is a small bay just down the driveway and the walk to the lighthouse is a must. The staff are professional, warm and very attentive to all your needs. The house dogs were friendly and our kids loved them. The pool was huge and I would do laps every morning. We enjoyed the cooking from the chef and found deciding what to eat the most difficult aspect of our day. We absolutely loved staying at this amazing villa and could not recommend it highly enough for every type of traveller. Do your self a favour and book this villa whilst in Srilanka. We are so glad we did...

“Perfect place in Sri Lanka to enjoy the beach, people and cultur” My husband and I travelled through Sri Lanka for a couple weeks, then off to Maldives for a week and were looking for a spot to unwind back in Sri Lanka to wrap up our holiday, this place was perfect. The house is simple but has everything you need (including a washing machine - which we weren't expecting, but was a great treat after travelling for several weeks). Right from the initial booking, Gavin was responsive and the transaction was easy. The staff at the house arranged a driver from/to the airport (about 3 hours) which worked great, stopped to pick up beers for the ride :). Mahinda greeted us and visited a couple times to ensure we had everything we needed. The house staff on site were always busy cleaning the yard, house other accomodations. The security guard overnight was really smiley as well. Mahinda's brother made us a lovely seafood bbq on the beach in our backyard and it was amazing! If we come back to Sri Lanka, we will definitely come back to this house!

“Total Paradise” From the welcome drink on arrival right to our departure, Stella Beach offered a level of understated luxury from start to finish. Set on stunning private beach land, amidst towering coconut trees and bright blue skies, Stella Beach gives you the feeling of being 100% secluded. It would be a great place to base yourself as a large group, family, couple.....anything! The staff are incredibly friendly and on constant standby to your every need. Whether you want a massage, to go whale watching, to practise yoga, or to simply order a tuk tuk...the staff organise everything you need in the quickest of moments. The food cooked on site, was delicious; especially the curries which were a BIG highlight. Beautiful spicing, suitable for western palates whilst giving you a true sense of Sri Lankan flavours at their best. The rooms were decadent, with a modern twist. Stunning polished concrete lined the luxury walk in showers (the biggest I have ever been in ); teemed with stunning wooden flooring looked seriously chic! They have been very clever with their designs which is perfectly summed up with the unique swimming pool. No unflattering pool stairs, just different levels of concrete for easy access (perfect for children learning to swim!) All rooms are air conditioned and come with TVs, great for catching up on news back home. Fresh young green coconuts were knocked from the trees for daily fresh and nutritious hydrating beverages (what a way to start the day!) I truly felt in heaven whilst lounging on comfy loungers in the sunshine. Make sure to say hi to Baxter the dog! He is a wonderful and friendly character and was a real highlight, joining in, whilst playing cricket and catch with us in the garden

“A little piece of heaven where you can just relax” Sri Mathie is a wonderful old house that has been lovingly restored by the owners. My room was in the 'new wing' but you'd never know it was an addition. It melded into the original house perfectly. I intended to go to the beach daily, exercise, and get some work done, but the minute I sat down in the planter's chair on the front porch, all those thoughts disappeared and I enjoyed just gazing out at the garden, catching glimpses of monkeys, parrots, chipmunks and of course the geckos! We were greeted with a sweet lassi drink flavored with cardamon and it was delicious. The rest of the meals did not disappoint either. The housekeeper, Suba was very attentive but never intrusive. Her banana bread was delicious and it was the first place I'd stayed in Sri Lanka with really good coffee. For dinner we enjoyed wonderful curries, and pizza from a real pizza oven. There was also a French curd for desert that was out of this world. If you can pull yourself away from the porch, the beach is only a few minutes away and Galle (25 minutes away by tuk tuk) is definitely worth a visit. You can also wander around the property where they grow pepper, avocado (I was given 5 to bring home) coconuts, and cinnamon. If you are looking for a place to relax and just get away from it all, Sri Mathie is wonderful. And if you can't get away completely, there is internet access.

“Paradise does exist!!” If i have to discribe my stay in villa golden in one word i would say "heaven". The premises are excellent, charming villa and superb gardens. Very nice pool and with a garden that gives into the sea it is just wonderfull. Very friendly and helpfull staff. The cooking lady makes the most delicious food. We just had the most wonderfull time during our stay!
