“A Heavenly Retreat” It is a charming old colonial Villa with spacious rooms with comfortable 4 poster beds. One must try the delicious traditional and healthy Sri Lankan cuisine which is a delightful mouthwatering experience of its own! You could even customize your menu to match your own taste buds. Set in a natural and peaceful environment away from the hustle and bussle of the city life, we were able to see nature at its best. Having said that, the Villa is only a few minutes away from the City by a cheap but reliable tuk tuk ride. We also took the opportunity to try out the relaxing ayuruveda massage which was one of the best. This is a must to try out if you want to enjoy some calming and peaceful moments. Since the Villa is situated near the historic Galle Fort, we were able to see many amazing things and places and even watch the beautiful sunsets while relaxing on the beach.

“A truly magical and tranquil fun place to stay....Loved it!” We stayed at David's place for 11 days. Everything was sublime, the receptions was welcoming, the rooms were all beautifully decorated and the verandas were a real treat in the evening with a glass of wine of good stories to tell. The staff we’re charming and always aspired to meet your every wish. We cooked together in the kitchen and shared recipes and tips on each other’s cuisine; it was like being at home but on holiday, if that makes sense. You can easily get about as David’s has pretty much a private Rickshaw waiting at your disposal who can take you into town, down to the beaches etc. Everything you really need is no more than 15 mins away. The gardens are a delight and teeming with wildlife, including monkeys, lizards, snakes, and birds. You can also play snooker/pool and there is also the possibility for alfresco dining and BBQ's. Not to forget the interesting tour of the gardens which includes, rubber trees and the products, pepper plants, coconut trees, cows, mushroom cultivation etc.

“Peaceful luxury” We stayed as a couple with the whole place to ourselves for 5 nights, it was wonderful! Tam the owner liaised promptly with us via text as we were already travelling in Sri Lanka. We went to the property and met Asela the cook and house manager, who looked after us so well for five days, nothing was too much trouble. The house and grounds are gorgeous, with a beautiful pool and pool house for outdoor lunches. Close enough to Hikkaduwa ( about 1-2 km or 200 Rps tuk tuk) but feels like a whole other world in the middle of the rice paddies and quiet. Would love to return with a group of friends, it would be great for families with kids ( although pool not fenced so little ones need to be watched). The food menu was simple but delicious and we ate almost every meal here, curry was particularly tasty. Highly recommended.

“Home away from home!” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Roshan and his staff. This was a wonderful home made even better by the incredibly attentive service we received. Roshan listened to every whim we had and made each of these thing happen with what appeared to be effortless ease. He is a world class host in addition to being an incredible cook. Thanks Roshan for making our stay so very memorable. The home itself is located about ten minutes walk from the beach. We did not find this distance to be a deterrence, as the villa comes with a tuktuk. (Roshan was more than happy to arrange pickup and drop off times for us whenever we wanted to travel about.) It is a well appointed place, with more than enough space to comfortably house our group of six adults. Please take Roshan up on his offer to provide your meals! They are indeed as good as all of the previous reviews described. He works magic out of the kitchen. This is a home I would recommend to family and friends. I hope we are fortunate enough to return someday.
