JOSHUA TREE HACIENDA.
The affordable luxury listing in 29 Palms. Our home is VERY close to Joshua Tree National Park, just off the Utah Trail, between the Park Welcome Center & Park Entrance. Sleeping arrangements for up to 9. 3 bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom, plus a powder room. Originally a quaint 1946 Adobe, completely rebuilt and expanded between 2006 and 2010. Warmth and luxury with a European flair (I am British born, my wife French). Expensive for 29 Palms and well worth it. Lots of space inside, plus a large outside patio for dining and entertaining. This is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the desert, and the amazing night sky. Luxury living, with gourmet kitchen, living room, sun room and formal dining room. This is a fenced estate sitting on 5 acres, yet still within City Limits. It features dual zone air-conditioning/heating, as well as an evaporative cooler. Room for RV's, horses, and all the toys. Near Oasis of Mara, all the 29 Palms Murals and the casino. Great day trips to Palm Springs, El Paseo, Pioneer Town and Lake Havasu. Interesting off-roading in near vicinity. Feels a million miles from the city, yet nightlife available at the Tortoise Rock Casino one mile away, open 24/7 (Website hidden by Airbnb) Our home is good for 3 couples traveling together, families with kids and furry friends (pet deposit required) and small business groups. Extra personal services available, such as arranging food shopping and stocked refrigerator in advance. House cleaning (at a charge) for longer stays as requested. Pets welcome within reason (inquire - pet fee required)

Other things to note
ABOUT CLEANING & PET FEES: It may look a lot but we do not make any money on cleaning fees. We love dogs, but they require extra house-cleaning time, especially in winter weather (dog hair etc.). No cats, sorry - too dangerous for them in the desert (coyotes, eagles). I charge a "dog cleaning fee" of $100 to include up to 2 dogs and $50 each for additional dogs to cover costs. Children welcome too, but it means more post-departure clean-up time. Our cleaner, who is wonderful, always knows :-) This is a big house and she charges us for $120 for pre-arrival house cleaning and set-up and $150 to $200 post-departure ($200 for "heavy cleaning" if needed).
SIGHT SEEING / THINGS TO DO: 29 palms is also known as the City of Murals. It is the home of the Marine Corps Air to Ground Combat Center - probably the largest in the USA. Local entertainment is eclectic. There is the Tortoise Rock Indian Casino, which features live music on Friday evenings. There is also the local 29 Palms Playhouse and the Smith's Ranch Drive-in movie theater offering the latest blockbuster movies, one of only 5 left in California (check their websites for screen times). There is the quaint Schoolhouse Museum, and various art galleries, antique stores and thrift shops scattered along a 30 minute stretch of Route 62 (aka. 29 Palms Highway) from 29 Palms to Yucca Valley. Noted place to eat is the 29 Palms Inn at the Oasis of Mara (5 minutes drive) where they grow their own organic herbs and vegetables. You can tour their grounds. Palm Springs is less than an hour away. The famous luxury shops of El Paseo are 90 minutes away. Pioneer Town, a reincarnated 19th century Western Mining Town, is about 40 minutes, featuring the famous Pappy & Harriet's Barbecue with live music at weekends. If you are going to Las Vegas, there is an amazing drive through the back roads of the Mohave Preserve. "Waze" knows the way and it takes less than 3 hours. Lake Havasu is little over 2 hours away. Or you can just hang out, read a book and enjoy a different world. Rite-Aid and a large supermarket (Stater Bros.) are less than 10 minutes away. And a Super Walmart and a Home Depot less than 30
