A rustic and minimal, bohemian artist retreat and 1950's cabin, surrounded by a breathtaking 360 view of Mojave desert mountains. Minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park, on five acres of expansive desert land.

The space

A minimal and bohemian Mexican style cabin built

In the 1950's, a cosy and secluded 652 square retreat, with 360 Mountain views of the expansive Mojave Desert. Backdrops like a picture perfect setting, with breathtaking views of mountains out every bedroom window. You will have the property all to yourself, situated on five acres of desert land, and a guaranteed peaceful night sleep out in the Mojave desert. The cabin is newly owned by a musician couple from Australia who are based between New York and California. We have created this space to inspire others on their creative projects; the desert is a great place to draw inspiration or reflect, and get creative, and explore - not just the land and historic landmarks surrounding - but yourself. We hope you feel as rejuvenated and mentally rested and reset from the world as we do when we leave.

The lounge has a comfortable couch and coffee table, radio to listen to tunes. Lift the blinds for a beautiful view of endless mountains, or pull the blinds down to feel cosy - note, the view of the stars at night when the blinds are open is pretty spectacular! Same goes for sunrise over the mountains! A swamp cooler is located in the lounge.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove top, oven, fridge, cooking utensils and coffee machine, coffee included.

The bedroom is a basic set up with a Queen bed and closet space. Second entrance is in the third room, that will eventually be a music studio, but for now, it is an open space for any extra guests that may need the blow up air mattress.

The bathroom includes hot water, shower over bath, basin and toilet.

The house is fenced around all the front entries, with an outside couch and hangout area to lounge on, enjoy morning coffee / afternoon beers.

A queen air mattress is in the wardrobe for any extra guests that may be staying for an extra charge.

Guest access:

Our desert retreat is on five acres of open land for you to roam, you will have access to the whole house that includes two entrances, a kitchen, lounge room, bathroom, bedroom with Queen bed, outside hangout area, even the goldmines in the area are available for exploring.

Other things to note:

The property is on tank water, Please bring your own drinking water and be mindful of water usage - no chemicals or rubbish down the drains.

The property does not yet have wifi, as we want this place to be an escape from everyday distractions. You can still get cell service from the house.

The cooler is a desert swamp cooler located in the lounge, it will cool you down but is not your standard air conditioner.

I don't live on the property but you can contact me 24/7 via to phone and email, the cabin is all yours whilst you enjoy your stay. I also have a trusty handy man in the neighborhood who can take care of anything that is needed and who will meet you with the keys on checkin.

The description says it all, this is truly a desert hideaway. What it doesn't say is the incredible charm the owners have added to this authentic vintage cabin. It felt both luxurious and rustic.… More

How do damage deposits work?
