Please bear with us! On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian, a massive, Category 4 storm slammed into Sanibel with 155mph winds and a 13ft storm surge that swept across Breakers West. Incredibly, our building remained standing, but the ground floor units were destroyed. B-2 and most of the 2nd floor units escaped damage, save for losing our lanai screens and some baluster posts.

We, and Sanibel, are both rapidly rebuilding. If all goes well, starting September 1, 2023, we will be welcoming guests to a B-2 and BW that are even more beautiful than before. And due to the destruction next door, we now have gorgeous sightlines to the Gulf.

Meanwhile, the shorebirds have returned to Sanibel in record numbers. Restaurants, shops and sites of interest have reopened. New vegetation is sprouting everywhere. Roads and bike-hike paths are being restored.

As of September 1, you will once again be able to relax in the ambiance of Olde Florida in our comfortable, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 2nd-floor Sanibel condo, located on the Gulf side of quiet West Gulf Drive, just over 100 yards from the Gulf of Mexico and our lovely, quiet beach, which you can access via a convenient beach path. Dolphins frequently swim near-shore; pelicans perform aerial acrobatics as they swoop in for fish.

Enjoy morning coffee on the screened-in lanai, overlooking lush landscaping and our private swimming pool. Toast Sanibel's glorious sunsets on our shell-filled Gulf beach. Experience the charm that is Breakers West: a family-friendly, 18-unit complex of mirror-image condos, close to shopping, dining and island adventures, yet quiet and peaceful, a world away from noise and crowds.

We're constantly working to "feather the nest" with projects large and small, with frequent additions to the "little niceties," including high-definition cable TV service, high-speed internet with WiFi, 2 flat-screen Samsung TVs, DVDs, board games and puzzles, books, beach chairs and umbrellas.

Our well-equipped kitchen has quartz countertops (the breakfast bar doubles as a handy laptop-workstation), electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, dishes and utensils, pots and pans. Our two bathrooms have quartz countertops, a bathtub in the MBR, a shower in the 2nd bedroom. There is also a landline/VOIP telephone (helpful if you lack cellphone service; calls within the USA are free of charge).

--Because we do not use the Waterside Inn (next-door) as our rental agent (some Breakers units still do), our guests are not permitted to use the Inn's shuffleboard courts, on-site bike rentals (there are 2 rental shops nearby), pool (we have our own!), or beach-side chaise lounges.

If Susan and Andrew (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
