The Cristobal block was completed in 2006 and this top floor apartment has been fitted out to the highest standards. Clean, modern and luxurious. From the 37" full HDTV and Blue-ray player to the super quiet air conditioning unit and granite work surfaces, no money has been spared in creating a sumptuous environment for your enjoyment (and ours as we use the apartment ourselves when it is not let out). From the moment you enter the door, you will be smiling.

We selected this apartment and styled it as this way to suit ourselves (young at heart and fun loving romantics) but have been pleased to find that young families have also loved being there so are happy to welcome all.

Being in such a small block it offers safe, quiet and private surroundings and even the pool is, more often than not, used only by us or our guests/clients. As nice as it is to spend your days exploring the many attractions offered by this modern Spanish port, from it's Blue Flag beaches and

The Region of Murcia region

This region of Spain is rich in beauty and areas of outstanding interest offering all types the perfect holiday. There are two water parks, one in the town of Vera, just an hour's drive towards Almeria, and one in Murcia which also has a zoo alongside, also just under an hour's drive.

The Sierra Espuna National park is just 25 minutes drive away (at Totana) with stunning walks and views and the town of Cartegena (40 minutes) is steeped in history and character from its old forts and amphitheatre, modern marina, old naval harbour, to the quaint and beautiful narrow streets filled with great shops, cafés and restaurants.

There's also La Manga on the Mar Menor, with it's beautiful and famous golf course and striking form approximately 45 minutes drive.


Puerto de Mazarron

The small coastal town of Puerto de Mazarron has much to offer with regards to local amenities. The supermarkets and fish market (5 minutes walk) stock a wide variety of local produce (fruit and vegetables, meats, wines, and fish caught the same day), and the Sunday market is one of the best in the region and is only a 2 minute walk from the apartment. There are plenty of shops and places of historical interest along with 2 outstanding marinas, the larger of which was totally renovated in 2009 and now has a modern and tasteful promenade along with many waterside cafés, bars, shops and ice cream parlours.

Cafe/bars and restaurants of all varieties are plentiful with an abundance of tapas opportunities or Chinese, Indian, Italian and Spanish cuisine to name but a few. There's even a famous "Fish and Chip" bar, one of the oldest buildings on the seafront.

Most of the locals are Spanish and are very friendly and will try to help out if you make an effort with a few words (Hola=Hello, Haste Luego=Catch you later, Gracias=Thank you, Por Favor=Please) but there are also four or five bars run by English ex-pats within 5 minutes walk so for those of you who just want to unwind and not think about anything, they're the places to head for.

There are also many banks including some English ones such as Barclay's and Lloyd's along with most Spanish ones and there is a local hospital and dental surgery and various taxi firms.

There is a bus station only 5 minutes walk away and all regions are serviced from there.

The apartment is situated atop the 'La Cumbra' hill which is a very peaceful and safe location. It is centrally located within the town and the ideal spot to start out from, each day, no matter what your itinerary demands. Also, it's close for that 'return' at the end of your day's entertainment.

200m away is the 3 star Hotel of the same name ('La Cumbra') and for the less energetic or those who desire to mix with other couples/families locally, it is a mere 2 minutes walk. Here you can dine and drink or share their pools, gardens and lounges.

Several family friendly blue flag beaches including Nares, La Reya and La Pava are located within an easy walk of the apartment and offer fantastic water sports facilities. The extent of beaches in Puerto de Mazarron and the amazing 300 days average per year of sunshine are what has made the region so popular as a holiday destination.

Even in the height of the season, if you want some serious space to yourselves for rounders, cricket, kite flying etc, just walk further along the beaches to the west (towards Bolnuevo) and you will quickly come across expanses of wide open beach between the two towns. Many Spanish choose Puerto de Mazarron for their holidays and they love to be in the thick of it (so to speak) so don't seem to venture that bit further, which is very convenient for those of us who prefer a bit of space or privacy.

For the more energetic, if you continue to walk along that beach even further, Bolnuevo itself is approximately 2kms from Puerto de Mazarron making it a very pleasant stroll for walkers. It also has many different beach-side café/bars and the majestic 'Enchanted City' Sandstone Rock formation for photo enthusiasts.

Isla Plana is 5kms up the coast to the east where many of the beaches also offer water sports of many varieties.

“'Fantastic'.”

This fantastic apartment is ideal for couples, like us, or families. The balcony offers beautiful views of both the mountains, inland, and the sea and is a great place to sit for an apperitif before dinner. The furnishings are modern and the apartment was spotlessly clean. Your every need is catered for and it's so nice to be able to do the washing before you get home!!! (Wife writing this) The town, a short walk away, offers numerous bars and restaurants and a stroll along the marina offers even more choice of places to eat and drink. This is a great apartment and we would not hesitate to recommend it to all our friends.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at our apartment in Puerto de Mazarron and we look forward to seeing you again. Don't know if you're games players, but since your stay we have added a PS2 and various games to further enhance the appeal. Thanks for the nice comments.

“GREAT FAMILY BREAK”

Stayed here October half term 2012. Were very impressed with both the location and general finish of the apartment. Situated on a hill behind the town center (beautiful views of the sea and inland mountains from the balcony), the apartment has 2 good size bedrooms and 2 bathrooms also a reasonable size kitchen living area. Plenty of room for our family of 4. A shortish walk will bring you to the heart of the resort with its two marinas and great choice of wide sandy beaches. Although very quiet (suited us) in October I imagine the town would have a great atmosphere in the height of the holiday season. All in all a fantastic short break, great apartment , lovely town would definitely recommend to others.

It was a pleasure to have such a nice family stay with us and is always pleasing to know guests enjoyed their holiday. Being very new to renting out our apartment, we do so want all our guests to go away content that they choose not only the right location, but the right apartment too. Was lovely to do the changeover and have next to nothing to do as the place was immaculate. We look forward to your return and of course, as repeat guests, there will be a complimentary discount offered :) Love to the girls. Nick & Claire
