From the owner

Greenland's House is situated on Candlewood Crescent (plot D4) of the exclusive Pezula Private Estate, Knysna. This 5* resort is home to the Pezula Championship Golf Course and the Conrad Pezula Hotel. The development its-self is a nature reserve with an abundance of wildlife living within the site making it a true spectacle. The development is also highly secure with manned security gates, 24 hour monitored CCTV and perimeter electric fences.

The house has been architecturally and fitted out to a very high specification. New Telcom Fibre broadband is available for all guests to use free of charge. On the ground floor the property boasts a grand entrance leading to the main sitting room. Open plan from the lounge and opening out to the pool area is a quirky casual dining area perfect from breakfast and lunch. The kitchen is of a high specification and is open plan to the main dining area overlooking the pool and gardens. There is also a separate utility/wash room equipped with a washer, dryer and dishwasher just off the kitchen. On the far side of the ground floor is the cinema room complete with a 46” television, digital satellite TV and home theater system. Also on the ground floor is a guest W/C and the fourth bedroom with a large double bed and en-suite bathroom. To the first floor is the master bedroom suite with panoramic balcony and views and a four piece bathroom. Second bedroom with full bathroom and third bedroom with full bathroom.

The property has underfloor heating, a feature gas fire in the main lounge and a few portable electric heaters. Note: The house is a vast space and in the coldest winter months can prove tricky to heat the house to a warm temperature.

Externally the property has a long driveway leading up to the property and ample parking for roughly six cars, A large double electric garage and immaculate gardens. To the rear of the property is an outdoor lounge area and a large, well maintained swimming pool. Both of which back onto (with views) of the Pezula Championship Golf Course.

PLEASE NOTE: Pezula Private Estate has strict property rental rules that all owners and guests must adhere to. After booking, you will be required to read and sign a copy of the estate rental rules & regulations, complete a rental booking form listing all guests and their details and to pay an administration fee as part of the booking equivalent to R3000. This fee is then paid to the estate management for administering rentals and issuing of biometrics upon arrival. Further details on any aspect of the Pezula Estate Rules can provided upon request.

Dear Mohammad, Thank you so much for your feedback on your stay at Pezula. We are glad to hear that on a whole you found the house to be of the highest standard and as you expected. Naturally, both myself and the owner David were shocked to hear of the issues that you found and I wanted to cover these item by item for you: Firstly, with regards to the heating issue I understand that both the underfloor heating and gas fire were functional. However, they wasn't raising the temperature to a level that you wanted. I appreciate you was visiting from a very warm country and that South Africa can be very cold in the winter months. We supplied additional portable heaters for use during the remainder of your stay. Also, the power outage was unfortunate but from time to time this does happen nationally. Secondly, regarding the WIFI having a 3g dongle setup is never the perfect scenario. However, at the time of your stay it was the only option with no wired or other wireless connections being available on the site. We did outline the service and data usage on the Trip Advisor website for guests to review. Now that cables have been installed across the development we have free fiber optic broadband. Depending on the length of guest stays and number of guests we can with a simple call increase data and speeds at no costs to guests. Therefore, we can now offer excellent speeds and data for all guests free of charge. Thirdly, We do at no cost to guests have the house professionally cleaned prior to arrival and after departure. In my experience this is the normally procedure for private rentals and we do offer additional cleaning mid stay at very reasonable costs. If I was aware you required this I would have been very happy to arrange for you. Finally, I was very sorry to hear that the washing appliances became defective. They was up until your stay working perfectly with no issues reported and it is almost unbelievable that both appliances should stop working at the same time. We immediately replaced both appliances with brand new ones after departure which was the first opportunity we had to do so. I hope that the issues you experienced didn't dampen your stay and I can assure you that we did everything possible to assist you during your visit. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
