Location description from owner

The New South Wales region

Manly is only 17km from the central business district of Sydney and is in the Northern Beaches Region. The average temperature in summer is 18-27°C (65-80°F) and in winter, it is a very pleasant 8-17°C (48-62°F). Manly is famous for its amazing beaches which stretch from Queenscliff Beach to its north, to South Steyne and the world-renowned Manly Beach itself. The prominent icon that symbolizes the beaches and the ocean of Manly is the Norfolk Island Pine. There are also many rock pools on the 10 minute walk to Shelley Beach and Fairy Bower. You are a few hundred metres to the ferry terminal for a fun trip across Sydney Harbour to Circular Quay and Sydney CBD, reaching Sydney attractions such as a vast array of restaurants at Circular Quay, the historic Rocks area, the Harbour Bridge or the Opera House in only 15 minutes.

“Ideal location for a visit to Sydney.”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2016

I stayed at Manly Sea Bliss in June 2016. Getting there. If you are coming into either the international or domestic airports I recommend that you buy an Opel card. These are available from the shop in the Arrivals concourse once you have cleared customs. I recommend you put A$40 credit on your card to start with & this will get you to Manly with credit to spare. The Opal card can be used on all public transport incl. the ferry to Manly. The train down to Circular Quay takes 10 mins. Get off the train, go down the stairs & walk to Quay 3 for the ferry to Manly (2mins).. The ferry takes 30mins & ferries leave every 30mins. The ferry passes Sydney Opera House & Harbour Bridge & is a great start to your visit. Once at the terminal it takes 5mins to walk on flat ground to the apartment & is easily found. You can top up your Opel card in the newsagents at the ferry terminal or at Humphreys newsagents on the right up the Corso. Every time you use the card the machine shows you how much credit you have so there,s no chance of getting caught out. Just remember to leave A$20 credit for the train journey back. The apartment is on the 9th floor of a centrally located block. There is a lift. The accommodation is excellent. It has a full range of kitchen utilities, A nice comfy bed & a bathroom with a bath & a shower. There is a sitting room area & a balcony with a table & chairs. The view from the balcony is as shown in the brochure. Manly is a great place to stay for a visit to Sydney. It,s away from the hectic centre & is a resort on it,s own. All the resort is on flat ground so great for walking to get around. There are loads of restaurants/pubs to cater for all tastes & budgets. I am an O.A.P. & always feel safe in Manly. I have visited Manly on many occasions & stayed in similarly priced accomodation. This is by far the best. The owners Jenny & Lloyd are brilliant. They let me hold the accommodation for a day whilst I matched up flights. They send you a comprehensive brochure which explains getting there, using the apartment & visiting Sydney. Jenny was on holiday whilst I was there but she even called me from her holiday in France to say that she,d heard it had turned a bit cold in Oz & that there was a heater under the stairs!. Like being looked after by your mum. I highly recommend Manly Sea Bliss. Get it booked. Now. Enjoy!

“Brilliant views, all facilities, close to everything, in the centre of Manly”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2014

Being on the top floor of the security building, the view is spectacular from the living area and the balcony out to the ocean and the beaches. There is an equally pleasant view inland and of the inner harbour from the bedroom. This was a real apartment! Everything was really clean, huge kitchen, and the queen bed in the separate bedroom was terrific. The location is one block back from the beach, and central to everything. Shops, restaurants, bars, beach are all there. Walk outside and the Manly vibe was fantastic. Really a nice relaxed beachy Parisienne feel. All the features of the apartment worked and having our own Gaggia coffee maker and high speed internet was a bonus. The air con was quiet and effective. Shelly Beach can be seen from the balcony and we met some super keen ocean swimmers who swim from Manly beach to Shelly beach every morning. Apparently the snorkelling at Shelly Beach and the fish life is fantastic. We will try this next time. The apartments for rent in the Manly National Building are all different so do ensure you speak to the owner, check you will be getting the actual apartment advertised. They all have different catchy names. We were very happy with "Manly Seaside Bliss".
