Description

Situated on the Dolphin coast north of Durban, La-Peng Bed and Breakfast offers elegant rooms overlooking the majestic Indian Ocean. Owned by a lovely couple who are passionate about the hospitality industry.


Dorothy, a proud half Zulu half Tswana South African who is fluent in almost all of the 12 South Africa national languages, is trained in interior decoration and floristry. She adds the class, flair and welcoming air to the home, making everyone feel comfortable and at ease. Alex, her husband is a German international executive chef having catered for the pallets of the famous, infamous and royal. He can oblige to anyone's specific taste.


This beautiful house features a garden, free private parking, stylish rooms, with high ceilings, free Wi-Fi, air-condition and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels.


The rooms are decked with wooden floors and have a terrace or balcony with 180 degree sea views.

Four of the bedrooms, as well as the front yard veranda, have a marvelous sea view. And lucky guests, right from their bedroom window, may have the bonus of catching a glimpse of the magnificent whales and playful dolphins seasonally frolicking in the waves.

All rooms have a hair dryer, tea/coffee facilities and their own bar fridge.


A continental breakfast is served daily. The guest house has BBQ facilities and several restaurants, cafés and shops are within a 15-minute drive away.


La-peng is ideally situated being only a 15-minute drive from King Shaka international airport and the Gateway Theatre of Shopping. Other close by attractions includes Sibaya Casino, uShaka Marine World, the ICC Durban Arena and the Moses Mabhida Stadium which are within 20 minutes' drive, along the beautiful coastal road.

Surfing, deep-sea fishing, dolphin viewing, golf and kite boarding are some of the activities guest will find in the surrounding area. (Unfortunately these facilities are not offered at the guest house. Ask the friendly owners where to find the best activity centers).

Pet lovers will be delighted to get acquainted with the two friendly resident cats and a loving dog.


La-Peng means “be at home” in the Tswana language. We endeavor to provide homely airs with the most breathtaking backdrop. So come and feel at home at this welcoming guesthouse.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
