From the owner

Shady Retreat is situated in one of the most popular holiday areas of the coastal region of Perth. Just a couple of minutes drive to the family friendly Mullaloo beach with park and BBQ facilities. Whitfords shopping centre and cinema complex is a 2 minute drive or you can walk quite easily.

Just a few minutes further down the coast road and you're at Hillary's Boat Harbour which has endless entertainment for the children, the fascinating Aqua underwater experience and an abundance of dining options to tempt you.

Check out the Pinaroo Valley Kangaroos just 5mins down the road, take in a game of golf at Joondalup resort which is less than 10mins away. The train station and freeway are just five minutes away.

Whatever you choose to do in the day, you will find that Shady Retreat offers a peaceful, comfortable home from home to return to for a relaxing espresso under the pergola and later, the traditional Aussie BBQ with your favourite beverage. Free unlimited Wifi keeps you in touch while you relax and unwind. An efficient gas heater will keep you cosy at the cooler time of year in front of the flat screen tv or playing one of the many board games provided. If you still have energ to burn we also have a table tennis table.

The property sleeps up to seven guests offering one queen bed, two double bedrooms and one twin single room. Although there is only one bathroom which can be annoying with larger numbers, the toilet is seperate.

We have just today 4/10/20 finished installing new kitchen, new laundry and have carried the new solid flooring through into the hallway and bedrooms.

The house has also been freshly painted. Photos of the new kitchen are displayed and new photos of the laundry and bedrooms will follow.

As I'm a huge animal lover, I do allow pets at the property on approval, so ask me about yours. I have a huge back yard which is perfect for the family dog. Please always contact me directly as an online booking will not be accepted without prior approval of your pets.

When you book with us at Shady Retreat I always have plenty of contact with you prior to your arrival to make sure I know your needs for your stay. I will be at the house to meet you, show you around the house and pass on all the local knowledge I can offer. I have plenty of written information in the house but I can help you with any questions you may have or ideas appropriate to your visit. During your stay we are 10 mins away and you will have our mobile phone number in case of any questions, advice or problems. We enjoy hosting our guests and have remained friends or at least in touch with many of them, especially the ones who were migrating.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Linda (the owner) a message.

If Linda (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
