Located on Bali's dramatic and undeveloped northeast coat, Villa Purnama is a unique retreat for families and friends looking for a step off the beaten Bali track.
With sea views over the Lombok Straight and a vivid coral reef meteres from the front door (as well as easy access to world class diving in Tulamben, the villa is perfect for those who want to escape from the crowds and immerse themselves in nature.
The beachfront villa offers complete privacy and is actively managed by the neighbouring European owned Kubu Indah Dive Resort and Spa. This gives Vila guests ultimate flexibility to be totally self sufficient or they are welcome to use the resort facilities which includes a fabulous restaurant, bar, spa and dive shop.
About Villa Purnama:
The Villa
The Villa has three spacious double ensuite bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have double doors opening onto a terrace with views over the Lombok Straight. The third bedroom is housed in a separate annex with a view up to the sacred Mount Agung. Additional beds and baby cots are available on request. All bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans.
The stylishly decorated spacious sitting area has a three-seater sofa and two designer lounge chairs. There is also television, DVD player and small book collection which guests are welcome to borrow from during their stay.
The modern European kitchen, with granite worktops and integrated electric fan assisted cooker, is fully equipped to allow guests to prepare their own meals. Alternatively lunch and dinner can be prepared by the staff upon prior request and at an additional charge.
The housekeeper cleans the Villa twice daily and is available throughout the day to assist you with cleaning and laundry . All linens, towels and beach towels are provided and changed on a daily basis.
Pool and garden
The 32 sqm private infinity pool is perfectly positioned to enjoy the sea views, whilst the 750 sqm tropical garden contains native flowering plants and trees. The terrace has very comfortable sun loungers and sun parasols which can also be positioned to provide shade over the pool.
The pool is cleaned on a daily basis by the gardener.
There is a small gate for direct access to the beach and an outdoor shower.
Sea and Beach
The sea is beautifully calm, clean and clear with a pristine coral reef situated just 10 metres from shore. The reef is perfect for snorkelling and relaxed diving, with a large variety of hard and soft corals, reef fish and macro life. Depending on the season, turtles, manta rays, whales and dolphins can be encountered.
The beach is made up of large rounded volcanic stones and it is recommended that you wear reef shoes for getting in and out of the water.
The local fishermen use the neighbouring beach to store their colourful jukung fishing boats and will happily sell you some their fresh catch when they return in the mid morning.
Security
The Villa can be completely locked up during the day and night and the grounds are patrolled 24/7 by the security team of the neighbouring Kubu Indah resort. A safe is provided for your valuables. Whilst the beach is public, it is very quiet other than the local fisherman and their families walking along the way to and from their boats.
Location:
Villa Purnama is located in the traditional fishing village of Kubu in the Karangasem province of Bali. This region has some of the most dramatic scenery that Bali has to offer; a dramatic contrast between lush paddy fields in the deep valleys and the dry dark volcanic slopes that lead right to the sea.
You can easily explore the village of Kubu on foot and the local residents will readily offer your a friendly hello and a cheerful wave.
Tulamben, famous for the USS Liberty wreck , offers world class diving and is a ten minute drive away. This village is more developed than Kubu, with a small supermarket, ATM and number of chilled out bars and restaurants.
Further along the road to the South and around a 20 minute drive, is the Amed region which is a string of coastal villages that still retain the hippy vibe of when they were first visited by travellers in the 1970s. There is more great snorkelling and diving, sandy beaches and great selection of beachfront bars and restaurants.
