Our newly built log cabin is situated in Salla, north-eastern Finland within the PAN Village Oulanka. If you are looking for a calm and peaceful holiday, admire beautiful untouched nature and want to experience the true Finnish Lapland without the fear of bumping into large tourist crowds, this is the place for you!

Although way off the beaten track, you can still access the place with relative ease and have all mod cons and services available. There are lots of activities on offer nearby such as husky safaris, reindeer sleigh tours, snowshoe walking, downhill and cross country skiing during winter and fantastic hiking options during summer seasons. Some of the most famous Finnish hiking trails run in close proximity to our cabin.

White-water rafting, climbing, canoe trips and fishing are other summer time activities for which the nearby environment is perfect. There is also a reindeer park in the neighbor where you can feed the reindeer around the year. Usually wild reindeer also end up walking around close to the cabin so keep your camera within reach at all times!

Salla is a perfect spot to witness the Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis. Also, in August and September, the changing of the leaves sets the countryside ablaze with its gorgeous red, brown and golden colors which is therefore perhaps the best time for hiking. LOCATION

The cabin is located 3 km from the downhill slopes at Sallatunturi, 13km from Salla village with its grocery and liquor stores, 100km from the nearest airport at Kuusamo and 910km from the capital Helsinki. The easiest way to arrive is to fly to either Kuusamo (KAO) or Rovaniemi (RVN) and rent a car. Flybe/Finnair, SAS and Norwegian operate regular flights. Ebookers usually offer really good value for money vehicle deals.

THE CABIN

The cabin area is 104m2 (1120 sq ft) and contains 3 bedrooms with 2 single beds each (sleeps 6). The spacious open plan, living room and dining area combined with a beautiful fireplace and floor heating offers you real comfort. The cabin is equipped with two large bathrooms and two toilets. You also have your own sauna! Furthermore, you have an own washing machine and tumble dryer plus an airing cupboard to dry your wet gear.

Amenities include a HD quality flat screen television with satellite receiver, a DVD player and free wireless internet. The spacious open-plan kitchen is fitted with all modern appliances, such as a large fridge, ceramic cooking field, oven-microwave-combination, coffee maker, water kettle, toaster, dishwasher and tableware for 10 people.

    How do damage deposits work?

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Ulf (the owner) a message.

    If Ulf (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
