The recently completed apartment offers a place of peace and tranquility away from the overcrowded holiday resorts. The building is set in an extensive private landscaped garden with trees, flowering shrubs and native plants. The accommodation is designed to retain the charm and character of the area while providing every modern amenity.

The apartment design is light and airy and encourages the sun, while keeping cool in summer with windows opening to all four sides of the property, providing a natural cooling from the afternoon breeze known locally as la Marinada.

The open plan living dining room has direct access through French doors onto a spacious private terrace with table, chairs and sun sail shades. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob, microwave oven, fridge freezer and washing machine. The double bedroom also opens onto the terrace, which is for the sole use of visitors, and has an en-suite level access shower room. The second bedroom has two single beds

A spiral staircase leads down to a generously sized private swimming pool, which has a spacious paved surround with table, chairs and sun loungers for the sole use of guests and the owner's family when they are present. Children must be supervised at all times.

The property is located near the historic city of Tarragona, the provincial capital. Els Pallaresos and El Catllar are nearby typical Catalan villages offering a full range of local facilities and services. The owner's house adjoins the apartment and help is on hand to assist and advise visitors.

You are able to use our Wi-fi network which has a booster box from our main house.

There is ample free onsite parking, within the colourful natural garden. In August Tarragona has the festival of Sant Magi and in September the festival of Santa Tecla. Throughout the summer each village and town has its own typical fiesta with traditional music, dancing and local cuisine.

Barcelona Airport is around a one hour drive by car on the C-32 motorway. Reus Airport is 20 minutes away and Girona 1 hour 50 minutes.

The Catalonia region

Costa Daurada Tarragona offers an opportunity to see the authentic side of Catalan life and culture. Historic Tarragona was the Roman capital of Spain; many well preserved remains are open for visits. Among them, the impressive walls encircling the old town, the forum, the amphitheatre overlooking the sea and the aqueduct in a nearby wooded valley. To the north lies vibrant Barcelona famed for its Gaudi buildings, and the monastery of Montserrat. To the south lies the Ebro delta, rich in interesting flora and fauna. Port Aventura theme park, and a separate water park are 15 km away. Ferrari Land opens 2017. Extensive vineyards are located in proximity, denominations include Montsant, Priorat, Penedes and San Sadurni where Cava is produced.

El Catllar

Visible from the apartment are the picturesque mountains where many villages produce local wines and offer typical cuisine. Travelling inland from the apartment are the ancient monasteries of Poblet, Santes Creus and Vallbona de les Monges which are all open to the public. The nearby beach Platja Llarga (10 minutes by car) is an extensive stretch of fine golden sand ideal for a stroll, swim or run. For the more active, wind surfers and dinghys are available to hire. Local amenities within walking distance include a supermarket, bakery, newsagents and hairdressing. In the nearest village, Els Pallaresos (1km), can be found two banks, doctor's surgery, pharmacy, restaurant and bars. Horse riding and dressage are 2km away. Reus flying club 10km. Golf course, pay and play, with clubhouse and restaurant open for lunches, 4km. Modernist architect, Jujol, colleague of Gaudi, designed and built several properties in Tarragona and local area, including the churches at Vistbella and Montferri, in addition to the theatre in Tarragona. The AVE high speed train to Barcelona and Madrid has a station with parking 10 minutes drive away.

“Fantastic location pleasant surroundings”

Great location. I could get into town and to the sea quickly, or to the fast rail service. Lovely accommodation in a nice setting. It was easy to find and I was able to park with no problems. The owners were very helpful and I would totally stay here again,

Great location near enough to Barcelona to be able to experience and see all the sights but far enough to be a quiet family home. The pool was great. I had the pleasure of meeting Josep who filled me in on the background of his beautiful house, the construction of the pool and the local fruit and nut industry.

“Fabulous location so much space and so much to do”

The apartment was modern and clean and there was a lovely pool to relax in at the end of the day. There was plenty to do for all of the family. Our favourite beach was the playa larga. 3km of perfect sand and a shallow sea getting gradually deeper with no shelves or steps so perfect for the family. Great beach bars and plenty of free parking. There were several other good beaches in the area giving a bit of variety. Also wine tasting and Port Aventura theme park, waterparks and safari parks made a good break from sightseeing around the roman city of Tarragona the Ebro delta, colorful Sitges and Barcelona. For the more physically adventurous there was plenty of hiking in the beautiful mountains behind Tarragona with natural springs and waterfalls and cheap restaurants using local produce .
