“JUST AMAZING”

Reviewed 5 Mar 2015

Absolutely great place to stay at Mahe, close to the bus stop and grocery shops, sorrounded by nice and big garden. Anne (manager) is the person at her place, always helpful and doing her best to satisfy customer needs. We all hope to be back soon! BIG Thank you

“I stayed at Chant d'Oiseau trice in the last three years”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2014

We enjoyed our vacation mainly because of. - the fine assistance of the house manager and her extended family - the always new beautiful sites, flora and fauna we saw under and above the sea - the people we met

Thank you again for your appreciation. You were our very first guest who booked when we first opened in Aug 2012. At that time i did not have a website but you trusted us to make your booking when you had been coming to seychelles before that. Ever since you have keep coming back with all your family. We must say, on each occasion it was a pleasure to welcome guests like you. We promise that we will strive to keep on delivering better quality service and product each time you come back.

“One month stay in paradise”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2014

We stayed in the basement appartment for one month and it was great! It suited our needs perfectly since we were doing thesis study in the capitol Victoria, which is only ten minutes by bus from Anse Etoile. The bus station is just down the road were you also will find two small shops. The area is very calm and though the guest house lies close to a school this is not a problem since you are mostly away during the day. We would describe the basement appartment as spartanly luxurious, you will have everything essential like a washing machine and ok kitchen but not much more. The garden is absolutely lovely with many fruit trees like banana, papaya and pomelo, be sure to try out the coconuts too! Buy a fish from the market and have a barbeque in the garden is also a thing we recommend. Our stay in the Seychelles was truly great and the stay at Chant d'Oiseau suited our needs perfectly. The hosts are really helpful and will assist when needed. Only downside might be that there isn't a beach close by, but there are some really great ones 30 min walk away. If staying on Mahé you will probably rent a car, or go around by bus like we did for 5 rupees a trip, and then you will surely visit a lot of beautiful beaches!

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us.

“A lovely home with beautiful gardens and easy access to Mahe beaches”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2014

A really lovely home which my family made our home for two weeks over xmas and new year. Gardens are beautiful with flowers and fruit trees enabling you to pick your fruit for breakfast or flowers for the table! Great location with local shop for simple things and only a 10 minute drive to Victoria for supermarket. Christina and Anne were great in arranging everything we needed and in advance the car hire arranged locally which is recommended to travel around mahe to the many beaches. Top beaches are petit anse, anse soleill, beau vallon and anse intendance. port launay and petit anse best for snorkelling. Local chinese restaurant really nice and good value for eat in or take away. Best eating on the island at marias rock cafe and kaz kreol ! Veranda (near barbarons), sams pizza and pirates arms (in Victoria) also good. Great diving with Blue Sea divers at beau vallon - eating at beau vallon good in fontaine, la plage and pizza barboa. Would strongly recommend chant d'oiseau to families looking for a home feel rather than hotel and flexibility to travel around the islands. Best trip was the day trip to st anne for snorkelling, tour of moyenne and creole lunch on the beach at cerf island - arranged locally by anne rather than with large tour group and fantastic day. Look forward to visiting again with the family as soon as we have the chance. Thank you ever so much to Christina, family and Anne for a great stay.

Thank you for your review which has certainly helped others make a choice. I can see that you really had an awesome 2 weeks stay. you managed to enjoy a lot of the beaches in the south which are more pristine & less visited that those in the north. Albeit the fact that you were living in the north this did stop you from discovering the deeper south of the island.

“Good house and friendly family : perfect stay in Mahe”

Reviewed 10 Apr 2013

We can´t forget our holidays in Mahe. Mahe is a wonderful island and its people very friendly. I have visited a lot of islands of Mediterranean and Caribbean seas, but I think that Mahe is special and more beautiful. The beaches and sea are the best that I have visited. But in the afternoon, when you return home, you need a good accomodation. And Chant D´oiseau has been the perfect place for our relax at the end of the day. Good bedrooms, big kitchen, living room to watch the tv or veranda for have a good conversation . . . well furnished, clean . . . quiet area . . . And finally your attention and help, Christina, since I contacted to you to book the house, the procedure was very easy and quick. Anne, your help preparing the tranfer and car hire, the welcome, your disponibility any time, has been perfect. And of course send greetings to mum. Always ready to help. When you know that close to you is someone for any problem, you are quiet. Simply perfect, thank you very much. The world is so wide and has a lot of places to visit, but I hope return to Seychelles. In all case if anybody ask me information about accomodation in Mahe, the answer is Chant D´oiseau.

I took some time to respond but i had promised myself to thank you for your contribution. we are glad that you had a genuine experience of our hospitality & service which contributed to making your stay in Seychelles a great one.

“Very nice and comfortable house with beautiful garden in a quite neighborhood”

Reviewed 12 Dec 2012

We did spend 6 days in "Chant d'oiseau". The house is recent, clean and big and easily allows 6-8 persons to stay and live without any problem. It is secured as the family of the owner just lives close to it. The garden is very nice with tables to eat, seats to hang out and fruit trees (mangos, grape fruits, lemons) and nice flowers. Anne is the perfect resident manager and helped us a lot to fulfill our needs and was always available. The only drawback I can see is the fact that you need to walk about 20 minutes to access the nice beach of North Point. A car might be useful although there are many buses and the bus stop is very close to the house.

I took some time to respond but i had promised myself to thank you for your contribution. We are glad that you had good experience staying with us. It's rewarding to us.

“I do hope to be able to return to Chant d'oiseau”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2012

The villa, tastefully furnished, is in a beautiful garden, with some tropical fruit trees and many colorful flowers: it is a delight to breakfast and/or relax there! Above all, the owner (Christina Medina) and her sister-in-law Priscilla who manages the property and assists the guests, are fine and reliable women, also capable to cook tasteful creole dishes, as well as give useful tips about the island, shopping, excursions, restaurants, etc. The prices for renting the villa and for dinners are reasonable. The villa is near a bus stop, so you can reach the capital - Victoria - in a 10-minute trip for 5 rupies (about 0.33 Euros), and 5-10 more rupies enable you to go to the best sites and beaches of the island.

It did took some time for me to respond but i have been wanting to do it it all along but time prevented me from doing so. It's been over 2 years since you first stayed with us and i am glad that you have come to chantdoiseau 2 more times since them. Having such wonderful guest like you makes it a pleasure to host.
