The property is in a privileged location, since it is located in one of the most central and emblematic streets of the municipality. Calle Calzada, is a street that is well known to all residents for its unique topography and for its exceptional views of the stairs of the gallows, which culminate in the background with Castillo de Luna. The year of construction, according to cadastre, is dated from 1900, and reforms were made later. The reform previous to the reform carried out recently, was 22 years ago. This property has been used as a workshop for a furniture restorer. To comply with the new program of use of a tourist accommodation, at present a reform of the building has been carried out, modifying the facade completely, increasing in number and size the existing openings, and exposing and enhancing its historical character, since It showed the granite goal and a composition was created where more holes appeared accompanying the main goal. The new holes were also framed, although this time, more timidly and with lighter materials. On the ground floor was designed a totally transparent and independent studio on the first floor, in which you can identify a living room, two rooms separated by partial mobile partitions, an American kitchen and a bathroom, both connected by large windows to a small patio of existing light, which provides lighting and natural ventilation to the interior of the house. In addition, a pre-existing well, a typical element of Extremadura rural architecture for the use and consumption of our ancestors, is also preserved on this floor. In order to facilitate access and non-discriminatory, independent and safe use of this establishment to people with disabilities, the bathroom of this study has been adapted to possible people traveling in a wheelchair. In this way, an accessible kitchen and bathroom has been created. For this purpose, the spaces established by the standards have been left and handholds and other necessary devices have been placed for the correct use of all users. Throughout the entire building, we have tried to discover the nature of the building with subtlety. The plaster prior to the current reform has been removed in some places, respecting the pre-existing dividing walls in all their thickness. This is how the physiognomy and construction techniques of this building, typical of rural architecture in Extremadura, have been discovered and displayed with pride. In addition, stone arches have been discovered on the inside of the building's façade and stone walls have been reconstructed. This property presents a modern style with straight lines but with a vintage touch on an old base, where it is always preserved, even the historical character is enhanced. Likewise, neutral colors such as white and black are always pursued except for some element that emerges with a bright yellow color with a more daring character.
