The villa has that high end bucolic Italian beauty and attention to detail in its decor, high ceilings, antique furniture and objet d'art; from the beautiful carved beds and wardrobes to the original stone sink, to the mature and fragrant walled garden / court yard which the bedrooms overlook through long French Windows and Majorcan forest green shutters.
It's all spotlessly clean. Untensils and glassware were elegant and sparkling, the bookshelves in the main room full of classics and best selling novels, the exterior is that lovely thick Majorcan Cotswold coloured beige stone, ancient thick walls keeping the accommodation cool in the summer.
It's located at the top of Orient; a very small village with steep cobbled streets, an ancient church and three lovely restaurants.
The owner / host lives next door. Olaf could not be more welcoming nor more helpful without being intrusive. If you sit and enjoy his wine you find yourself in the company of an easy going, relaxed and down to earth intellectual who is a most interesting conversationalist.
