“villa bukit lembongan ...just right” just had the best 5 night holiday staying at Villa Bukit Lembongan. The photos dont lie ,the staff where so friendly the position was great , 5 minutes from the beach but so peacefukl at night.Went and had a look at villa 2 and I have to admit it has agreat feel ,will defiantly stay again .Thank you Villa Bukit Lembongan.

“Villa Penyon beauty” We stayed in the villa 3 nights mid December 2012 and could not fault the experience. Villa was beautiful, clean & in a beautiful spot with views to die for. The staff were so lovely. The island is beautiful. We hired scooters and the roads are empty so very safe even if a little potholed haha. We went all over the island & over the bridge to the next island. Would definately recommend both villa Penyon & Lembongan. Loved it.

About Nusa Lembongan

The island is approximately 8 square kilometres in size and would perhaps be considered much more laid-back than neighbouring islands in Bali. In short, it’s ideal if you're looking for a relaxed getaway.

There's an estimation of just over 5000 residents living in Nusa Lembongan, most of whom rely on tourism, unlike the other two neighbouring islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan.

Many residents rely on the trades of agriculture, fishing and farming to maintain a steady income and one quirky local custom is to extract Carrageenaans from seaweed for the production of cosmetics. Girls, you must try it!

You'll enjoy the fantastic sunsets, which can be viewed during the early evenings from many of the beaches around the island. The waters are some of the clearest and bluest you'll ever see in the world which will definightly make for fantastic photo backdrops.

What to do

The two main beaches in Nusa Lembongan are Jungut Batu and Mushroom bay. Jungut Batu is a narrow strip of white sand with great waves, ideal for surfers and backpackers. The best months for surfers are between April to September. Heading south, Mushroom Bay is a much more sheltered bay, perhaps better suited to young families or those looking for a tranquil holiday. The waters are fairly calm and the beach itself is less touristy.

The majority of beaches on the resort offer activities such as diving and parasailing for adrenaline seekers looking for a challenge. For those who desire a much more laid back holiday, there are fishing trips and a variety of venues offering quality massages, which is a real treat if you're not on a strict budget.

There are also a number of coastal paths where travellers can enjoy the beauty of the surroundings by foot.

Top Lembongan travel tips

Lembongan is an extremely small island, however you'll still need to consider the best methods of getting around with ease. The majority of locals and tourists choose to hire a motorcycle or a bicycle. Motorcycles cost approximately 30,000 Rupiah per day and can be hired directly from local businesses.

Similar to nearby Bali, Lembongan is also extremely dry during the hotter months of May-August, but temperatures can soar into the high 30s during the months of July and August. The rainy season occurs in the months of January and February, but is a much cooler period.
