“Absolutely perfect vacation getaway!” This place is absolutely breathtaking! There are so many things to do here, it is perfectly located on the river, and the cabin itself is stunning! We all had the best time here and are already hoping to plan another trip back soon! We want to thank the owners for letting us stay here and making such wonderful memories. “Guaranteed Relaxation” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the river cottage. The deck just above the river is spacious and comfortable, and it's where we spent most of our time. We cooked all of our meals on the grill there, and dined al fresco enjoying the soothing sounds of the river. We had everything we needed in terms of linens, kitchen supplies, etc., and we appreciated having wireless internet access as well. There is a dorm -size refrigerator in the kitchen and another one on the deck. This made it easy for us to have room for food in the kitchen and beverages handy on the deck. There are shades on the deck that can be pulled down for extra privacy. The hot tub and the massage chair were just the ticket after climbing to the top of Chimney Rock. This is a perfect cottage for a peaceful and romantic getaway!

“Relaxation by the River!!” If you are looking for a place to relax and renew your batteries, this is the place for you. Let the sound of the river settle you down while reading on the deck or enjoying the Hot Tub. I celebrated my 60th birthday and my retirement in this charming setting with my Husband of 44 yrs. It would be perfect for a family with children as well. It is located close to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Bruce and Marion's attention to detail in providing anything you may need is amazing. I will certainly stay here again when I am in the area.

“Amazingly hospitable!” We so enjoyed our stay at Green Gables! Not only was it a beautiful home with a great location, but the service was impeccable! The owner knew it was a special occasion for our family, and we arrived to see a bottle of wine, a fruit basket, and a cake! It was a truly fabulous weekend in what felt like our home away from home.
