Best in Akaroa
What can I say? This apartment was absolutely glorious in every way, from the high spec finishings, space, views, location, & facilities, right down to fresh roses & yummy home baked cookies plus wine! The pantry & fridge have an excellent array of ingredients - much more than the usual. Alison & Ross are fabulous hosts who were kind enough to invite us over for morning tea one day. It was a treat to awaken to Tuis & Kereru and that view! Bifold doors open right out to the north facing deck & barbecue facilities. The bedroom can be closed off if your spouse is glued to sky tv... Location wise it’s opposite a bush walk The Garden of Tane, & is a very short walk downhill to the village for morning coffees. There are several nice cafes & a few restaurants plus freshly caught fish n chips. Shops were quite varied, including a few upmarket clothes stores & a cool antique store. There’s a number of giftware shops. Akaroa itself is a gem with gorgeous original settler style homes & villas with well kept cottage gardens filled with roses, lavender & geraniums. The locals are extremely friendly. A boat trip to see the marine life is a must. We spent 5 nights at Akaroa Apartment and would return in a heartbeat. …

Absolute paradise for a couple
My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at Paradise Cottages over New Years, and we had a beautiful time. The cottage is neat as a pin, beautifully decorated, and has a lovely view over the small vineyard. The highlight for us was the outdoor kitchen on the deck - we enjoyed frying up bacon and eggs for breakfast and eating them on the outdoor lounge set. It was also an excellent place for a glass of wine as the sun went down. The cottage is nice and private, yet close enough to the main property that you can get directions/restaurant advice/general help from Siobhan very easily should you need it. We would love to come and stay again. …
