“Excellent place to stay, close to many historic sites” Well designed accommodation to fit a small place, just right for 2 people. Owner very helpful with tips on getting around and where to eat. Unfortunately the weather was very poor while we were there so we weren't able to appreciate the roof terrace. No need to hire a car - the buses are excellent and very cheap. Very clean and well furnished.
“Perfection!” We spent a fantastic holiday in this gorgeous house right in the heart of stunning Mdina.
From booking it last year, the correspondence from Andrea was always promt and indepth and he gave us great confidence that we had picked the right property.
The house itself was wonderfull, spotless, and the photos don't do it justice. The location is perfect and the views are to die for from the roof terrace.
Joanna was so helpfull and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and right through our stay. There was a comprehensive welcome pack in the house so we had no need to rush out for provisions.
We felt a part of a wonderfull family while we were there, and will without doubt return again and again.
Joanna and Andrea, thank you very much.
Remarkable and Lovely 3 Bedroom House of Character in the heart of Mdina
We have been to Malta several times before, and found this house on a previous visit. We have just returned from a week with a group of friends, none of whom had been to Malta before. We had the most fabulous week, and all plan to return. Booking with Andrea was so straightforward, and Joanna and Joe could not have been more helpful while we were there, with advice on everything we needed. The house was well equipped with everything we wanted, and to actually be staying in Mdina itself was so special. …
1 BDR House of Character in Mdina: Prime location
Lovely home in Mdina
This apartment is like stepping back 500 years into the world of the Knights of Malta. Our balcony looked straight onto St John's Cathedral square - we even watched a local wedding one evening. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming or helpful and our welcome pack was generous. The apartment was well equipped - downstairs bathroom could make it tricky for the less mobile to negotiate the elegant spiral staircase but having an upstairs lounge overlooking the square gives it a very spacious feel. Mdina is sensational and Malta fascinating. We made use of the 7 day bus pass for 21Euros even for our return to the airport and especially enjoyed lazy days swimming and snorkelling at Ghajn Tuffieha and of course a day walking the ramparts and seeing the sights of Valleta. …
Fantastic house but needs some TLC and general repair
This property was fantastic, but...Lots of room for everyone to have their own space and it has a lovely relazed feel to it. It is even nicer than the pictures make it look. Lovely location and only a quick walk to the buses, which are cheap and provide an excellent means of seeing the whole island. We found restaunts cheap and plentiful. However there were a few points that we felt let the house down. Some are beyond the owners control- 1. The front of the house is very noisy by 7am, as all vehicles stop outside to load up and drop off. 2.The two outside courtyards are very small and can not fit 6 people eating out alltogether. Some things the owners can sort - 1. There was no hot water in the kitchen. The neighbour told us that this was an on going problem. 2. There were no instructions for the plunge-pool/Jacuzzi and although we turned on the heating in the garage and left it running for several hours the pool did not heat up. 3. There is no airconditioning in the down stairs bedroom. 4.The air conditioning in the other bedrooms was so loud it was hard to sleep ( similar to being outside during a gail). 5. Under the beds were dirty and had other peoples plasters etc under them. The bottom of both showers were stained and some electric plugs etc looked like they needed a good clean 6. The one bedroom had no shutters or proper curtains so was light by 6am. 7. Both showers had very limited water pressure and we had to hold the shower heads ( the shower head in the en-suite would only spray on to the wall if attached to the holder) 8. The dinning table seated 7, however there were not chairs at the correct hight for it (only 4). 9. There was little room in the bedrooms for our clothes, most wardrobes had spare sheets and winter bedding in and the draws and bedside tables still had other peoples things in. They looked like they had not been opened or used in a while. We therefore lived out of our cases. It would be nice to have had the bedrooms clear of personal items and cleaned out for use by guests 10. The iron made the electrics fuse and there was no hairdryer. It would have been nice to have a small freezer. 11. We tried to get the TV, Satellite TV working but could not and had to adjust the wires and conections to the projector to get any sound from it. 12. The basin in the downstairs toilet looked like it may come off at any moment and the main bed and down stairs bed made an awful noise when you rolled over in the night. The bed ion the main bedroom also had one of the uprights that was very lose, we tried unsucessfully toi tighten it.
However, we still loved the house. …
Comfortable, well-equipped and conveniently located self-catering
Mdina View is a comfortable and well-equipped self-catering house, with a magnificent view from its roof-top terrace. It's conveniently located at the Mdina gate and, despite being next to a parking lot, was very quiet.Friendly hosts, Alex and Erika, made sure that we had everything we needed and assisted us in booking a taxi to get to the airport on our departure. We used public buses, which stop near Mdina View, to get to Mdina from Valletta, and for a day's outing to Buskett Gardens, Dingli Cliffs and the neolithic temples. A very enjoyable 3-night stay, which could definitely have been longer! …
no.2 Labini 500 year old house of character
The owners were really helpful and the house was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked with food essentials like milk, cereal, eggs, bread and much more, which helped as we got a late flight into Malta. We were just outside the Mdina city walls with a car park right next to our lane and the famous 24hour crystal palace for a Maltese snack. It was lovely to be able to walk round Rabat and Mdina from the house.
The house itself was even more impressive than the photos!
It was easy to drive over the island from the house and there was a lidl within easy driving distance. I would recommend it! …
