“Luxurious and spacious hacienda perched on hillside with amazing facilities and views” We stayed in La Posada in the Autumn half-term. We were 6 adults and 6 children. Like I said, the place is stunning with a huge amount of space to relax and unwind in. Although there were 12 of us, we could still have fitted a few more of us in we think. We flew in to Malaga on Ryan Air and took the coastal road down to Estepona, and then turned off to drive up on the inland road to Gaucin. It took us about an hour and a half to get to Gaucin from Malaga airport, driving at night. This place has all the mod cons: wi-fi, TV room, spacious balconies and rooms inside. The highlight for us was definitely the swimming pool. We thought it was a great decision to have this fitted inside, as Gaucin in November, being a mountain village, can be pretty chilly with those fresh Atlantic breezes. In sum, we and the kids loved the pool and we were spoilt rotten being able to take a dip pretty much any time of the day. The sauna room, next to the pool area, once finished, will be the icing on the cake. Great views! You can see Gibraltar and the north coast of Africa on a clear day. And when the cloud comes in you can be forgiven for thinking could be in a Central American rainforest, such is the natural beauty of the surrounding area. We would recommend visiting Gaucin: a typically beautiful Andalucian town of historical significance due to its links to Guzman el Bueno and the reconquest. Right outside the property's gates there is a walking path that takes you up to Gaucin. My wife and I walked up with our youngest strapped to our back and it was fine. The views on the way up are stunning and, if you fancy a break from the drive up, then this is a good way to access the town, taking about 45 minutes. We would recommend exploring inland.. our day out in Ronda was particularly enjoyable and the scenery/ drive through the inner mountain range is nothing short of spectacular. The bad weather foiled our plans to visit the coastal areas but, due to the sheer luxury and spaciousness of La Posada itself, a day inside is not such a bad proposition after all. Gibraltar, Tarifa, and maybe even Sevilla (if you are willing to embark early), are within striking distance. The owner, Miren, is a very honest, reliable and informative person to deal with. We felt we could contact her any time with any question, not a problem. We were also very grateful to Diego, the handyman, who, without being intrusive, was always around and about the area and willing to answer questions and go out of his way to make our stay a comfortable one. They provided us with useful provisions for late night snacks and breakfast upon our arrival. Miren helpfully organised for Diego to show us to La Posada from Gaucin due to our late arrival time, which leads me to our recommendation... If you are planning a visit, we would recommend that you arrange for Diego to meet you and lead you to the place. We met him at the petrol station in Gaucin at about midnight and he drove down to La Posada in front of us via the Camino de Gibraltar. At a first glance, the Camino road does seem a little steep and windy at first. However, once you navigate it a couple of times on your own, it really is fine. We had normal bog standard hire cars, and they were fine. So, unless work has been already done to flatten out the other track road from the main road, then we would recommend you access the place by Camino de Gibraltar. We tried the other in-road once, but turned back immediately as we realised we'd need a 4 wheel drive to get over it. But then again, we were visiting during November, during the wet season. All in all, an incredibly spacious and well-equipped property which is superbly located for coastal and inland excursions alike. If you are after a tranquil location for a family and friend get-away with a little exclusive luxury thrown in, then this could be the place for you. Guy (London)

“Just AMAZING” This villa is just beautiful, we had the best time for my sisters hen do. There was 15 girls in total and the size of the villa was more than big enough! Carmen was just amazing from start to finish, she did us a big shop so when we got there we did not have to go out. The shop is about 10 mins walk away. We would go back in a heart beat and I would definitely recommend to all my friends. Thanks Carmen for all of your help.
