“Brilliant hosts - unspoilt town” Our hosts were fanatastic - nothing was too much trouble. The apartment was very comfortable and secluded. Lubrin is charming and unspoilt with lots of excellent places to eat at amazing prices - no real need to cook.

We booked Villa Lubrin as our first family holiday abroad. We are a family of 5 and our youngest son has autism so we have to plan our holidays carefully. The property is situated about an hours drive from Almeria airport which was a great drive in (lovely mountain roads) with almond and olive trees on every side from about 16km inwards to the Villa. The property was perfect, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open plan kitchen family area, a number of different eating areas outside (one with a BBQ) and an amazing private swimming pool.
The property is gated and is very secure (shutters and blinds on all windows and doors) which made us feel very secure and all rooms had air conditioning. We were met by the owners housekeeper who was very polite and made sure we had everything we needed before leaving us to our own devices. The property is very close (just after half a km to Lubrin) to the local town which had a small number of shops. Within the Villa is a folder with local information about places you can visit (local food markets/beaches/attractions) We spent the week traveling to different locations around the area. You will need a car as the property is remote, but in a good way! You are away from all the tourists and experience the relaxing side of Spanish life. Half way through our stay we were visited by the pool guy who made sure the pool was working as required and cleaned again for the second half of our stay. The owner was also on hand (via phone) to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay and was always very helpful.
The views from this property are amazing, and the pool gets the sun all day.
If you can grab a beer or a glass of wine and relax / watch the sun go down behind the mountains. That vision will stay with you forever (my pictures below) Our stay was truly wonderful and we look forward to returning soon …

Lubrin is an ideal location for anyone seeking a quiet, relaxing break. It is ideal for walkiing, running or cycling activities or as a base for visiting historic sites and places of interest. The village is within easy walking distance and caters for the purchase of basic commodities. It also offers a choice of bars and restaurants where you will be greeted with a friendly reception and find reasonably priced food and drink. …

My Spanish Retreat
As I am a Zimbabwean, I have seen many spectacular sites. From the Victoria Falls to the mountains in the Vumba in Zimbabwe. I travel a lot in my job and I did not believe that I would ever find anything to rival the scenery of my homeland. But that was before I visted Lubrin in Spain. Nothing could have prepared me for Fuente Arriba!
In the famous words of David Livingstone, there were "scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight." The surrounding hills are perfect for long walks in the country. There is next to no traffic and so the calm and tranquil surroundings add to the attraction. Add to this the friendliness of the local people and the ridiculously low prices for superb food and service, and what you have is the best holiday I have ever had.
The owners of the villas went out of their way to make our stay outstanding. We had everything we could ever want and when we went into town, the local people treated us like family due to the close relationship the have with the owners.
Without wanting to waffle on, go and see it for yourself. There is no noise pollution that you would find in a modern city and the authentic spanish villas will blow your mind. We took our 8yr old and 6yr old and for the first time in ages, the Nintendo's were not asked for as there was so many things to entertain them. From Boule to Croquet, we had the best family holiday ever.
The other thing is that there are a number of attractions in close proximity. From water parks to cowboy theme parks, you are seriously spoilt for choice.
To finish off my review, I will use the words of my 6 year old. When asked what he enjoyed the most about the holiday he answered "That the air smelt different and that it was the quietest place in the world." So fresh air and tranquillity... at the most affordable city on this earth in my experience. Need I say more? Book and experience total joy! …
