“A slice of paradise” This is the second time we've stayed at Poipu Shores and we love it there. This condo is beautifully remodeled, comfortable and well equipped. I don't think you can find a better location, the waves are crashing into the coves so close they hypnotize and relax you instantly. Watch lots of turtles surf every afternoon, a quick walk to the beach, followed by a stunning sunset to watch from the deck or master bedroom. Was comfortable even for a family of 4 with grown children. We will be back. The condo complex itself is older but well maintained and this is a great remodel. I don't think they would ever let developers build this close to a beautiful, rugged coast again, this place is unique. In contrast you can find newer condo complexes complete with gyms and some additional amenities, but you will be several hundreds of yards from the ocean with a walk and a distant view. At this location, the waves are crashing maybe 50 or 100 yards away, and it's even kinda loud at times - a view that the private multi-million dollar villas have is yours.

“Another great stay at Kapaa Shore #118” This was our second time staying in #118 at Kapaa Shore resort. We absolutely loved it. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was that there are no BBQ utensils in the kitchen. We did buy some last year and left them there. But other than that we love #118.

“Great views and location” Pono Kai is a lovely resort in a very convenient location. This particular unit had a gorgeous oceanfront view and stepped out onto a lawn fronting the ocean. Easy walking to Kapaa town, shops and restaurants, centrally located on island, and an amazing walking/biking path along the ocean right at the unit (bike rentals nearby). Good beaches are walking distance or a short drive depending on what you are looking for. C101, the unit we stayed in, was decorated nicely and had everything we needed. One caveat- it's described as sleeping 6, but the sofa bed, while it's a fine couch, is a miserable place to sleep. Even after removing the mattress from the frame and putting it on the floor, the hard lumpy springs made sleeping very difficult. I'd call this a "sleeps 4" situation until they replace the bed with something comfortable like a murphy bed. Visitors should also know there is no air conditioning, which is normally fine if you have the door open. Pono Kai staff are nice folks, but since this is not a Pono Kai rental, you will get no help from them and no maid service, pool towels etc. The pool is nice, the landscaping beautiful, and it's very family friendly. If you are below the 3rd floor, you may find the guests above you sound like stampeding elephants, and bring earplugs for the wild chickens that start crowing at 1 am.

“Great place, great pad” This is not our first trip to Islander on the Beach but it was certainly one of the best. The unit is nicely equipped and a great location. The aC works good. Our arrival and stay were both completely hassle free.

“paradise home” Booking our stay at Hale Makai was very easy and the directions were clearly explained in the emails. We arrived at Hale Makai in the dark and while we could hear the ocean we couldn't see it and wondered how far away it was. Looking out the bedroom window the next morning we saw the ocean a stones throw away and actually saw whales breaching before we even got out of bed! There were a few surfers out early and apart from that we saw maybe six people on the beach the rest of the week. We actually saw more whales than people. The house was clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, and we felt very much at home. The location suited us being only a few minutes from Kapaa, we could choose whether to explore North or South depending on the weather that day. We were also able to swim at "our" beach most days as the reef provides some protection. We loved the privacy and the home-away-from-home atmosphere that Hale Makai offered us. Also the fact that there are three bathrooms makes it easier to share the house with other people. We appreciated the little beach chairs too.

“Perfect Holiday Stay” Kaha Lani #224 was a perfect choice. This unit has fantastic ocean views, catches the trade winds nicely, and is vey well maintained. The grounds are very well maintained as is the pool. We went scuba diving both from the south end of the island and on the north, so we were well positioned and travel time was minimal. I had a little difficulty with internet connection and the property management office fixed me right up. Great value, I would definitely stay here again.

“Blue oasis and gem in Kapaa” I rented a 1 BR, 2 BA apartment in the Waipouli Resort. I was in awe of how tastefully the apartment was decorated and the fantastic view over the pool and ocean (4th floor in Bldg E). It was a most luxurious experience at Waipouli and we enjoyed the central location that allowed us to alternate between going north and south to visit beaches and nature. My 7 year old daughter LOVED the water slide and the jacuzzi and spent hours at the pool. She quickly made friends with kids from the many families that stay at Waipouli. We could not have been happier with our vacation. It was pure bliss!

“Our Stay in Paradise” Our stay at the Wisda house made our first trip to Kauai a very memorable one- dinners with family on the lanai, walking down the street to watch the sea turtles in the cove, listening to the ocean at night while enjoying the breezes from the many windows, etc., etc. The design of the house is excellent with a large space for group gatherings, but plenty of privacy in the bedroom/bathroom areas. Everything went smoothly beginning with my initial emails to the return of my deposit check shortly after our arrival home, The location is excellent, the house is beautiful, well-stocked and organized, and Kaua'i is truly a garden paradise. We would love to stay here again if our future brings us back to Kauai.
