About Hood River

Sitting on the Columbia River and named after nearby Hood River (once known as Dog River), this city is a huge magnet for adrenaline-junkies. They come in their droves to experience the high of kite surfing, white water rafting, mountain biking, kayaking and skiing. There's a post office downtown dating back to 1858, but Hood River wasn't declared a city until 1985.
