Things to do

If you like windsurfing, surfing or kiteboarding, then you’ll be in your element in Gandia. There are many clubs and classes along the coast where you can brush up your skills or try something new. Playa Gandia is perfect for families, groups and couples alike as activities at this beautiful beach include volleyball courts, bars, terraces and promenade with cycling routes.

For a great day out that the whole family will love, head to Plaza del Prado where you’ll find a children’s play area, tapas bars and numerous restaurants. A must-see when in Gandia is the Ducal Palace. This 14th century royal residence was the birthplace of the 4th Duke of Gandia, Saint Francis Borgia. Its impressive interior includes the spectacular Golden Gallery, made in Baroque style, and the Crown Hall. To find out about the history and culture of 'La fiesta de las Fallas' tradition in Spain, visit the quirky and fascinating Museu Faller of Gandia.

Beautiful beaches

If it’s a day at the beach you’re looking for, there are some excellent ones nearby. La Playa Norte is the most popular due to its fabulous facilities. It’s been awarded Blue Flag status and the sand here is golden and clean. Plus, it’s wheelchair accessible and perfect for families with young children. Playa de l’Ahuir is great for watersports and it’s pet-friendly too. There’s even a section for nudists! And for a beach that’s small but perfectly formed, spend the day at Playa de Venecia. It’s surrounded by dunes and green vegetation so it’s the ideal place to relax with a book.
