Despite it being the smallest country in Africa, Gambia will keep you coming back for more, even when you've done it all! Book your holiday rental in Gambia today so you can start your adventure!
Located in West Africa, Gambia is completely surrounded by Senegal, except for its coastline. Gambia takes its name from the Gambia river, which in the Mandinka term is Kambra/Kambaa.
With plenty of wildlife, Gambia is a haven for animal lovers. There are nearly 600 bird species, alongside various other animals. Gambia certainly lives up to its motto of "the smiling coast of Africa" with its friendly locals.
What to Do
Visit the capital, Banjul, where you'll be able to climb Arch 22 and witness breathtaking views of the city. Make sure to stop by the National Museum, too. There's also the village of Bakau where you can actually meet some crocodiles at the Katchikali Crocodile Pool.

Very Good Accommodation - Highly recomended
I enjoyed a very pleasant stay last november in this seemingly recently built bungalow. The house was really neat & tidy and Isatou proved to be a very friendly and unintrusive hostess. All the basic appliances where there and fully functioning, including a TV and 2 AC units (the latter turned out to be very comforting during daytime!). The garden seemed to be tended to regurarly as well.
The bungalow is situated within a gated community wich is guarded 24/7. The community lays in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood which i found was a welcome change from the touristic areas. A small shop is situated on-site for all basic essentials, and both Senegambia and Serrekunda are only 10 minutes away by car/taxi.
All in all i could highly recommend this bungalow for anyone who wants to have an accomodation which is up to western standards and comes at a very good price. …

The log cabin - 'Kaira Bungo'
Perfect setting, very good amenities, wonderful people
We were impressed with the house itself, its very quiet location in a beautiful sub tropical garden and the comfortable interior with a great bed, shower room and dining room/kitchen with cooking facilities and a fridge. Very close by is an eco-lodge with wi-fi, a bar and restaurant and arranged guided trips. We swam in the ocean most days - it is a pleasant 25 minute walk and even quicker by bike (the property has two bikes). We ate a few times at the local fishing villages which are incredibly picturesque - on bike along the beach it takes about 30 minutes to either village - North or South. The house is far from the tourist spots of Gambia with their noise and hassle and the local people are extremely friendly without being intrusive. Very highly recommended. …
