From the owner

That Place is situated on our working wine farm, That Wine Demesne. It's a comfortable, friendly home where you can spend a good relaxing holiday. Forests and pastoral views, rich bird life - and, if you are lucky - elephants wandering through their paddocks across the valley.

The house has 2 levels: two bedrooms upstairs: king-size master bedroom and twin bedded children's room. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower and the second bathroom has a shower. Both bathrooms are upstairs.

The kitchen is well equipped and is an open plan design with the dining and lounge area. Smart TV with Netflix loaded and lots of books to read and games to play!

The garden at That Place is prolific in bird-life, so for birders, it's a real joy. There are, occasionally, naughty Vervet monkeys, so do keep your food inside.

On lovely sunny days (of which there are many) it's perfect to sit out at your private pool, on a sun-lounger absorbing the quite of the trees or the calls of the birds and hellos of the monkeys across the valley.

Evenings are great fun at That Place - with the undercover barbeque area (what we call a 'Braai') and a very long wooden table.

A fire and food, good friends and wine, what better way to end an evening under the velvety African sky ...

That Place is a private home situated on our working wine farm, That Wine Demense, which produces award-winning Pinot Noir. The house has it's own private, fenced garden with undercover parking. We are just next door if you need anything, but otherwise it's completely private and secure.

Smoking is allowed outside only.
The pool is fenced, but parents and/or guardians are responsible at all times for the safety and due care of their charges.
No parties or loud music allowed as the gorge acts as an echo chamber.
This is a working farm, we have lots of dogs, are in the middle of nature with all the attendant bugs and slugs, so if you don't like animals, creepy-crawlies, do be advised not to book.

Why can't I call Joanna (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Joanna (the owner) a message.

If Joanna (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
