About the home

Harbourside studio just metres from the beach at La Darse and five minutes walk to the Old Town with its shops and restaurants,this is the view from your large balcony.
Les Galets D'Or is the perfect location for a relaxed holiday.With no through road outside you will not be disturbed by a noisy motorbike in the middle of the night ! This delightful studio, with views of the entire bay has everything you will need for a comfortable stay.

Bay of Villefranche and Cap Ferrat.

The Cote d`Azur has a long history as one of the most beautful coastal regions in Europe.
It is sophisticated but unpretentious. The scenery is spectacular and the food world renound.

The Villefranche Sur Mer / Port de la Darse area

Throughout history Villefranche has been both French and Italian and is still influenced by both cultures.
With its colourful fishing boats and numerous waterside restaurants there is always something to see.
You can wander the narrow medieval streets of the old town, or jump on one of the frequent trains that run
along the coast. On Fridays take the train just over the border to Ventimillia in Italy, where you can shop for
leather goods, shoes, handbags, knitwear and scarves at one of the regions largest street markets.
Nice, with it's night life, shops and famous Cours Salaya flower market is a 15 minute bus ride away.
For the perfect location, Villefranche ticks all the boxes !

“It was a great place to able to experience the area.” I had a great time at Les Galets D'Or. I used it as a jumping off point to visit Nice and Monte Carlo and it was also a great spot to just be there and visit Villefranche Sur Mer. My biggest regret was that I had only booked for five nights because I was travelling about. This is certainly a place that I would like to go back to at some point. The owner, Chris, was very gracious when I spoke to her on the phone when I was booking the apartment. Everything was clean and tidy and there were helpful pamphlets of some places to see in the area. You realy don't need a car as public transit was timely and affordable.

“Superb. Excellent location in a beautiful place” As soon as you open the door into this apartment you see the most wonderful view out into the bay. The verandah overlooks the bay and it is spectacular. It is a short walk to the citadel and the town. A car is not needed as everything is within a very short walk. Fabulous restaurants, the beach, the shops. Two restaurants are within two minutes walk!! A fabulous place to sit and watch the people and the boats. Compact apartment but with everything you could possibly need for your stay - including beach mats and seats. There is a lift in the building.

“A Little Bit of Heaven” This beautiful apartment in Villefranche, overlooking the old harbor of la Darse, is close to all that the Cote d'Azur has to offer. We have been to Villefranche in all seasons, including autumn and the mild winter, and this location never fails. There is easy access to Nice by car or public transportation and much to discover in this quaint former fishing village on the road to Monaco. Walk from the apartment to beaches or the town center. Have breakfast on the waterfront. The apartment has a modern kitchen and bath and an elevator. But the best part is the view from the apartment and its spacious deck - across the Bay of Villefranche, one of the deepest natural ports anywhere in the Mediterranean, to Cap Ferrat. Once you enter the apartment, the Mediterranean is always with you. And the deck is a great spot to sip Provence's finest while watching the lights come on along the hills and corniches or gazing as yachts and small boats ease their way across the harbor. It's a little bit of heaven.

Back home safe and sound now. We enjoyed a wonderful few days at Le Galet -
particularly the great restaurants and "wide screen TV" from the balcony.
There was always something going. Best restaurant was L'Eschalote and Mere
Germaine also gave a great meal. Thanks for your instructions and the info.

Dear Chris,
We enjoyed our time in your apartment very much. The views of the harbor and the Cap were fantastic. Because of the weather, the DVDs were especially appreciated in the evenings. We got in as many walks as we could stand in spite of the iffy weather. (Sunday, the day we left, was the first perfect weather.) The food at several of the local restaurants was great. We especially enjoyed the walk from La. Turbie to Eze in spite of some drizzle.
We tried to leave the apartment as we had found it. Thanks to Tamsin for picking us up at the bus stop on our way in.
We have already recommended your place to some friends.

Dear chris,

I have just got back from my travels, we had the most amazing time, the studio was ideal and loved by both of us. We're envious. We kept looking in estate agents windows.

We will certainly want to do this again one day, though unlikely to be next year, so I may be in touch again some time in the future. I will send the keys 1st class tomorrow.

Once again, thank you for your help and information (organising Tamsin was a great help). We have left there with the happiest of memories.

We had a wonderful holiday in Villefranche!! Your studio provided the perfect home for the two of us during our four week stay -- comfortably furnished, nicely decorated and very well equipped. And your commanding view of the harbour is amazing! It was really very entertaining, when we were not out and about, keeping track with our binoculars of all that was going on in the Port. Hi Chris,

I had a wonderful time in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Your apartment was exactly as pictured and was very comfortable to stay in. Richard was also a great help in finding my way around town and making me feel welcomed - even walking me home after a particularly bad storm. I was a bit road weary by time I got to the coast and Richard & the folks at Chez Net really made it the best part of my trip.

Thank you sooo much and I plan on returning, hopefully very soon. Is it best to go thru the Holiday Letting site or just contact you directly for future reservations?

Just returned and can't thank you enough for a most enjoyable stay - you really have a lovely property there with such a splendid view and every comfort.
We walked to Beaulieu twice and had lunch at one of the cafes there Le Pourquoi Pas - great , also walked to Villa Ephrussi one of our favourite spots and had a good lunch as usual there. We had a super lunch at the Cockpit. Also went to Nice flowermarket. All in all excellent and we hope to come again. We also appreciated english television.

Well Im back to earth with a thump... as sitting back at my desk at work and still looking through emails...

Dave has just text though and made me laugh as he wants to know if I fancy going for swim and then a rose on the balcony... so just thought I would drop you a Thank you note..

Your apartment was just what we needed... What a view!!! you said we would we spent most of the days and nights watching the boats in the Harbour and think we only left the village twice.. Can see why folks go back year after year...

Thanks for suppling us with a little bit of paradise. First place Dave has ever said he wants to go again to next year...
