The Southern Italy / Calabria region
Calabria is a mountainous region that has been slow to embrace Euopean tourism, and is therefore comparatively unspoilt in comparison to other european countries. The climate on the western coast is nearer to African than Mediteranean, and the beaches are in use from April until the end of October, with many sunny and warm days throughout the winter.
Tropea area
Tropea has a wealth of history and a long and interesting artistic and musical tradition. The old town is of particular interest, with many attractive bars and restaurants.
Boat trips to the islands are popular, with "Stromboli by night" being a particular favourite.
How to get there
Flying from UK - Ryanair from Stansted, Alitalia from Heathrow and Manchester, nearest airport is Lamezia (SUF), which is 55 minutes by car or train.
Air One also fly into Lamezia, and new routes planned for 2009.

Further details indoors: The property is a large farmhouse that has been divided into two properties. The owners live in one half of the property and the remainder of the property is for guests. There are excellent views to the front of the property across to Stromboli and the Eolie islands.
There is seating and dining facilities for six people, a downstairs WC and Utility Room, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom and the Lounge hasa sofa bed.
