The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
Provence is the stunningly beautiful south-eastern region of France by the Mediterranean coast next to Italy and is commonly known as the Cote D’Azur.
Provence attracts visitors to almost 300 days of sunshine annually. Boasting hot dry summers and mild winters, this is the main pull for foreign visitors escaping for short breaks or week stays.
The biggest and most popular attractions are the cities of Nice and Cannes and the surrounding small villages in the mountains. Monte Carlo is also very near with its jet-set lifestyle, casinos and great restaurants.
Ideally located in the quiet domaine, you can choose to spend a peaceful day at the villa or explore the local villages of St Tropez, Post Grimaud, Cogolin or Ste Maxime.
Ste Maxime Town
Ste Maxime is a pleasant old town with a palm tree lined promenade, cobbled streets and a wealth of lively and reputable restaurant and bars to choose from. La Reserve and La Maison Bleu are both bustling and popular haunts for the locals and tourists and are very family orientated. Popular bars include Le Wafou and the Café de France – both great places for relaxing, enjoying a glass of rose and watching the world go by!
St Tropez is less than half an hour (though in the height of summer this can vary and a recommendation would be to take the boat from Ste Maxime - this operates regularly during the season – no traffic and you enjoy the views at the same time!).
It is very much a main attraction of the area with its ocean going yachts, quayside artists and non-stop fashion parade. It is particularly well served with boutiques, a lively, twice-weekly market (Saturdays and Tuesdays) and many restaurants.
It can be expensive to eat out especially near the quayside but there still remains some relatively cheap places that will suit all tastes, especially Pizza Bruno just one street back from the main port.
Love it or hate it, the St Tropez experience is almost a must for anyone visiting the area.
Touring and Beaches
Port Grimaud, situated at the head of the Golfe de Ste Tropez, is called the Venice of France. Although relatively modern it has been built in traditional Provencal style. You can hire small boats or take the waterbus to see the village from the water.
Or there are the superb beaches of Pampelonne (where you can mingle with the rich and famous), Cap d’Esterill and Cavalaire, as well as all the beaches on either side of Ste Maxime.
Sport and Shopping
There are numerous local attractions nearby: water sports, golf, riding, aqua parks, wine tasting, local markets etc. The hill top villages of Plan de la Tour, Ramatuelle and Grimaud with their fine restaurants are all nearby and offer spectacular views of the Golfe de St Tropez, or the magical beauty of the Provencal countryside, or travel to Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo or even Italy!

"Sympa mais pas pratique avec des enfants en bas âge"
L endroit est très joli ainsi que le domaine. Cependant hors saison le restaurant est fermé le soir et ce n est pas toujours evident de faire la cuisine pour deux enfants car la cuisine n est pas pr… More
Thanks you for your review of your stay at our charming mas in the private domaine. I understand your frustration about having to drive everywhere - that's is only if you do not want to enjoy the private pool - which you can do when the road is particularly busy and there is a baby pool for toddlers which is " surveille" in the high season. Regarding the kitchen, we have never received criticsm for this as it is small but well equipped with everything you would need . I can only apologise if you felt the layout did not suit young children. We feel having a house off the busy main road and in a private domaine is an advantage - you can enjoy both the bustling town of ste Maxime and then retreat to the more peaceful domaine with glorious views of the golfe de st tropez.

"Another enjoyable stay"
This was our second visit and happy to report again that all aspects of the house and its facilities were just as last year, providing us with a most enjoyable 2 weeks holiday.

"Well appointed and beautiful views"
I would says - a little distance from St maxime ( actually outside the town) and lots of traffic , therefore we didn't go to St maxime as much as we would have liked. Very lasrge pool - but quite buy during the day ( nice an empty after 6:30), nice tennis courts. The villas was lovely but very hot, only one fan worked properly, a?c would have been good, but the weather was very hot 36 degrees. small but well appointed kitchen, nice outdoor furniture - an outside light would have been helpful. The views were amazing.
a nice beach on the way to St Maxime - free parking.

"Beautful area and great villa - home from home!"
We stayed at Failte during the last week of August 2012, travelling with my partner and our three children (10, 8 and 4), and it has been one of the best holidays we've ever experienced.
The villa is located in a gated complex about 20 minutes walk from the stunning beaches at the foot of the hill, or about 3-5 minutes drive in a car - advisable if your children (like ours) don't want to walk back up the hill after spending all day in the sea!
The villa itself is in excellent condition, forming part of a small, private terraced row of houses, with a patio overlooking the stunning view and bay between St Maxime and St Tropez.
There is a new bathroom, electric fans in both the bedrooms, a fully fitted and funished kitchen and dining area, and the internal structure of exposed wooden beams and white walls is striking. A stone spiral staircase leads down from the front door level (upon which the toilet, bathroom and two bedrooms can be found) to the kitchen and living area (wherein lies the sofa bed) and out on to the patio.
Some 5 minutes walk away from the villa are the swimming pool and sunloungers, or the tennis courts if that's your preferance, with an attractive clubhouse looking down from the hill - all within the confines of the complex and safe from the general public.
It is about a 20-minute walk from the beaches at the foot of the hill into St Maxime town itself, and I would thoroughly recommend catching the regular ferries across to St Tropez itself.
While we were five in our party, I don't think we ever felt cramped in the accomodation and the owners have maintained the villa to a high standard and with helpful utensils in the kitchen.
It would be hard to find fault with any aspect of our holiday, and I would recommend this accomodation to family, friends and anyone interested in a lovely holiday in the sunshine at a competitive price without hesitation.

"Excellent value villa in lovely Ste Maxime"
Just got back from a lovely holiday in Ste Maxime. We have been there many times before and love the area. In particular, it is a great place for a holiday with children but with plenty of things for grown ups to enjoy as well. The villa is in a quiet spot a few minutes drive along the coastal road on the way out of Ste Maxime heading towards Port Grimaud and St Tropez. It is very well equipped, well maintained and has lovely views over the bay of St Tropez. In particular, there is a lovely terrace - perfect for big breakfasts and lounging around. There are lots of lovely beaches nearby - some excellent ones around Ste Maxime, and the famous Pampelonne beach just outside St Tropez. Ste Maxime has lots of excellent shops and restaurants, and a lovely night market. The nearby hilltop villages of Ramatuelle, Gassin and Grimaud are well worth a visit. The daily markets are also excellent - St Tropez and Ramatuelle in particular. The bateau vert is by far the best way to get to St Tropez, especially as the coastal road gets very congested in high season.

"Lovely relaxing holiday"
We stayed for one very hot week and had a great holiday. The highlight of the house for us was the lovely terrace, particularly in the evenings when it was a bit cooler. The rest of the house was pleasant, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook proper meals. We were grateful for the dishwasher.
The surroundings were pretty and quiet and the pool a five minute walk away. The pool was clean and lovely, never horribly busy, and the clubhouse fairly quiet and very pleasant for a drink, although we didn't eat there.
We walked into St Maxine, which was about a 40 minute walk, but not an unpleasant one (20 mins through the domain and another 20 mins along the seafront road). There are small beaches all the way along once you reach the road and a big sandy beach in town, lovely for swimming in the sea. St Maxine and all the beaches were busy (it was August!) but not too busy, and the town has a really nice bustling holiday atmosphere. There are plenty of places to eat and we had a couple of good meals there.
All in all, a lovely place to spend a holiday.

"A comfortable and relaxing stay"
Our first stay at Failte, although we know the region well, and had an immensely enjoyable two weeks in June. The house, whilst not large, has a nice feel to it with superb views over the Golfe de St Tropez and a most pleasant exterior, including a delightful patio and small terraced garden. Inside it is simply but comfortably furnished in the "mas" style and contains all the essentials needed for an enjoyable self catering holiday. The "domaine", in which it is located, is very well maintained with excellent facilities, including a Club House, tennis courts and swimming pool. We would certainly consider a return visit in the near future.

"What a totally relaxing week which I would like to repeat!"
A quiet little spot but easy to get into the thick of it if that is what you want.
The day would start with a good swim (makes one feel better about the lazing around during the day and to make up for the festivities in the evenings!) in the pool at club house, back to house for breakfast and to RELAX under the sun gazing out at the Bay of St Tropez. Bliss. Afternoons would revolve around going down to beach (we had scooters but an ok walk), off to St Tropez for high end shopping or to Ste Maxime for lower key market shopping. Evenings, plenty of restaurants in Ste Maxime or a night in with friends and games. A great week. Also tennis available which we played a bit but would recommend a car.

"Superb , relaxing break"
In the hillside overlooking the bay of St.Tropez , Failte offers a super break from the hurly burly of day to day life , the view itself is worth booking for , eat in and use the ample facilities and eat whilst watching nighttime falls over the bay or visit St.Maxime with its bustling night market and numerous bars & restaurants , the site has its own pool but you are only a brisk walk from the med , loved it both times.
