You can simply relax at Villa Clara, and explore Provence and the Côte d’Azur. Italy too is within easy reach – the Italian border is only a one-hour drive away. Travel along the coast to explore the bustle of Cannes, historic Antibes or take a short trip along the Riviera to Monaco. If you wish to travel further, Nice Airport is just 16 Kilometres away.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

L’essence Provençale
At Villa Clara you’re perfectly situated if you’re planning to explore and enjoy Provence and the Côte d’Azur. This region, or ‘department’, of Provence is called ‘Alpes Maritime’.

The small town of Vence is 10 minutes drive from Villa Clara and is famous as a home for artists, sculptors and painters. DH Lawrence, Matisse, Chagall and Carzou are among those who once lived here. Today, there are exhibitions of contemporary art, jazz and classical music festivals and a famous book market.

Exporing the Côte d’Azur is easy too. Villa Clara is only 16 kilometres from Nice and it’s a short trip to nearby Cannes, and historic Antibes as well.

Heading east along the Riviera takes you to the principality of Monaco. This is a great drive along the Mediterranean coast. Italy too is within easy reach. The border is only 1 hour from Villa Clara, and from there you have easy access to the heart of Northern Italy.

Villa Clara is in the village of St Jeannet. The village is situated below a spectacular rock formation called Baou de St Jeannet.

The rock face rises over 200 meters. St Jeannet is beautiful, authentic and unspoiled. Excellent food and wine is available. And exploring the medieval streets and buildings is a ‘must do’.

The master bedroom is on the main level. It has a king-sized bed, lots of storage and wardrobe space, television, dressing table and bedside cabinets. It also has an en-suite bathroom complete with large bath, separate shower, toilet, hand basin and vanity with storage space. The garden bedroom has French doors which open on to Villa Clara’s beautiful garden. The garden bedroom has two single beds that can be joined to make a king bed, as well as a television and wardrobe. It shares a bathroom with the children’s bedroom that boasts a bidet and a shower with a small, but deep, bath. The children’s bedroom has 2 single bunk beds. The children's bedroom is the perfect size to comfortably sleep two children . Villa Clara has a delightful studio on its grounds. This is a self contained building situated just ten meters from the main villa. Inside is a kitchenette with two electric cooking hobs, an electric jug/kettle and a fridge.There is a comfortable double sofa bed with a thick mattress

Located in the charming medieval village of St Jeannet, Villa Clara is only two minute's walk from the Village's butcher, grocer, French bakeries, and six restaurants and bars. Upon arrival you will be greeted by our friendly French managers Benoit & Corinne. They are fluent in both French and English and they live in the village. If you need any advice or assistance Benoit & Corinne are always on hand to help. Villa Clara offers excellent privacy and security. The villa is situated behind two locked gates. There is also a security alarm, monitored 24 hours a day.

Further details

The rental rates are required to be paid in Euro currency only.
Low season rate is Euro1,750 plus power and wood used.
Middle season is Euro 2,300.
Peak season is Euro 2,900.
Final cleaning of Euro 150 needs to be paid in cash on arrival at the Villa.
The renter is required to have insurance cover for each person. 25% of the tariff must be paid on confirmation of booking (this is non-refundable) with the balance of the tariff payable two months before your holiday begins. A fully refundable security deposit of €700 must be paid in cash on check-in. Towels are included in the tariff. A payment of €150 on arrival is required to cover cleaning costs.

25% deposit is required when booking. This is non-refundable and is to be paid into the owner's French bank account on confirmation. The balance is required 2 months before your arrival at Villa Clara.

**** From 5 June 2010 to 10 September 2010 check in must be Saturday to Saturday. At all other times, please email us to see whether we can accommodate you with a 5 night minimum stay.

All prices include water and electricity, except for winter bookings (from October to April). During this period guests are asked to cover electricity & wood costs. A final charge for cleaning is not included in the above rates. A payment of 150 € on arrival is required to cover cleaning costs.

A 'Security Deposit' of 700 € must also be paid on arrival. This is refundable, and will be returned in full if there is no damage to the house. The renter is required to have a travel insurance policy with public liability cover for each person.

Sorry for the delay in writing but life was a little hectic when we got back.The holiday was great,we managed to do very little other than read,swim and eat and take in those fabulous views.Your home is in a beautiful setting and the gardens were a joy with great colours and delightful aromas.It really does feel like a home and we understand why you love the area so much.We came to the Grasse area two years ago but we preferred St Jeannet.Benoit and Corinne were charming and helpful with a good sense of humour and the gardener looked very like Sebastien Chabal the French rugby player.

A smashing week for both of us,thankyou for all your help in having everything so well organised.

A big Thank You from the six of us who spent such a wonderful week at Villa Clara 23rd - 30th May.

Your home in St Jeannet is truly wonderful and is definitely a 'happy' family home. Even now being back home we think fondly of our week in Villa Clara we could not fault a thing and loved the pool. We were totally taken back with the views.

Benoit was an exceptional Manager who made us feel very welcome and settled. We called upon his assistance getting to the St Laurent train station on the Grand Prix day and he was waiting for us on our return with his minibus.

St Jeannet is a beautiful village and we enjoyed sampling all the restaurants and what a joy it was to find a Vineyard on our doorstop so obviously after lots of sampling the different wines with our meals we just had to visit and support the locals.

We were taken back by the width of the roads and this took a bit of getting use to especially 'Bon Courage' and your driveway in a Porsche (low slung!)

I hope you enjoyed watching the Grand Prix on TV. I had booked train tickets and everything went off without a hitch and we loved every minute of the day, we were sitting on Rascasse corner so felt very much part of the race being so close to the circuit.

So all in all a perfect week was spent at Villa Clara and all six hope to return in the future. Thank you for all your information and help on planning and booking at Villa Clara.

We have now returned from our fantastic trip to Provence. After a week near Avignon we moved to Villa Clara and were thrilled with what we found.

Both Dyan & I, along with our friends the Rodrigues, want you to know how much we enjoyed using the villa. It is a real jewel and you must take such joy in spending time there.
The facilities were in excellent condition, the property is simply awesome and the location served our day trips perfectly. In addition, we appreciated the personal contact of Benoit and Corrine, both of whom represent you very well.
