The Western Ireland region

Galway City as well as the Galway County offers its visitors a lot of attractions. The historic ‘City of the Tribes’ itself is a lovely and vibrant place with bustling streets and outgoing people. After a full day of sightseeing, hiking or playing golf you can rest in a cosy and friendly atmosphere of the city’s pubs and restaurants. During the summer months, Galway becomes the home of exceptional entertainment events like the Galway Races or the Galway Arts Festival. Its location makes it a perfect base for tours to Connemara , the magnificent Cliffs of Moher and other sights in counties of Mayo and Clare.

All three counties surrounding Galway are soaked in history and studded with amazing castles and mansions, which differ not only in size and shape but also setting and atmosphere. Some of them are surrounded by beautiful gardens suitable for walks and rest, whilst others are perched on hillsides. Among the most beautiful are The Abbeyglen Castle, The Lynch’s Castle, and Ashford castle.

Salthill

Galway City, especially the area of Quay Street, is famous for the vibrant nightlife. The cobblestone streets are lined with restaurants, cafes and pubs which offer a mixture of traditional and modern-day entertainment. The music played ranges from club dance to traditional Irish/Céili.

During the summer months Galway becomes a melting pot of cultures and the home of many famous festivals. The Galway Film Fleadh attracts directors, actors, cinematographers and artists from different countries and backgrounds. The Galway Arts Festival presents an international programme of theatre, spectacle, dance, visual arts, music, literature & comedy involving hundreds of artists and performers. The Galway Race Week is the largest and longest horse racing festival in Europe. The atmosphere is full of fun and excitement. Every evening after the races, the city centre becomes a meeting ground for socialising and entertainment .

"Fantastic place, Fantastic stay"

These Apartments are exceptional, they are extremely spacious, very clean, and have everything you would need for a self catering stay. They are ideally situated right on the sea front. The staff are very efficient and very friendly. This complex is very well run. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and we hope to see you again in the future.

"Great apartment, good location"

We stayed at the Galway Bay Sea View Apartments for a week with my mother and my one year old daughter. We had the two bedroom penthouse apartment which was a spacious airy apartment with a fantastic roof terrace giving us splendid views of the bay and outside space for our daughter to play. The apartment was clean and comfortable, the cot and high chair provided were in a good condition and very clean (sometimes this is not the case!) The kitchen was basic but had pretty much everything we needed. There was lift access which was helpful with the pushchair. The only drawback was that one of the bedrooms and both bathrooms smelled of cigarettes and this smell lingered for the whole week. As we were a party of non smokers we found this quite unpleasent. Having said this the smell was not overpowering and you only really noticed it if the apartment had been shut up all day or when you first entered but this was not a great first impression! There are plenty of beaches within easy walking distance. Galway city is only a few minutes drive away and there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities within 1.5 - 2 hours drive. This was a great base for sightseeing which is what we did most days. We would definitely stay here again.

"The view was spectacular!"

The location was excellent. A lot of beach activity to watch from the balcony. The only downside was the street was noisy at night.

"Breathtaking view!"

We stayed in the Penthouse apartment, which has a gorgeous panoramic view from all the rooms of the sea. The service is simple, but perfect; it was warm, everything worked, it was clean, the beds were big and really comfy. We loved it. Salthill itself is a 25 min walk from central Galway - along the seafront - but if you're feeling lazy there's loads of taxis and buses. Would definitely go back.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Galway Bay Sea View Apartments. Salthill is an amazing place and we do our best to make the stay comfortable for our guests. Thank you for sharing your opinion.

"Excellent location, fully equiped apartment with real sea view"

The apartment was very clean, spacious, fully equiped, modern style apartment. Lovely clear sea view of Galway Bay. Located across the road from the prmenade. Excellent location for Galway City, 20 minute approx walk to centre. Small balcony. Could not ask for more from apartment itself. On the down side, the road outside apartment very busy so noise from traffic can be clearly heard in apartment. Closing windows made no difference. As we are light sleepers we moved to the the back bedroom which was nice and quite unless last night when noisy neighbours booked in. I would highly recommend apartment unless you are a light sleeper.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. Unfortunately some traffic noise is a trade off for being so close to the sea front and having those great views. I hope any other light sleepers will let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them on a higher floor.

"Wonderful views"

Stayed while attending a family wedding. Am from Galway so chose location as it was going to be convenient. Was very pleased with spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds which you can never count on. Amazing ever changing views thanks to a taste of all of Galway's weather. Have already recommended it to friends.

Thank you, we appreciate your recommendation. We are in a great location, next to two popular wedding venue hotels. You can walk to the venue in five minutes, even in heels! We are much more economical for family and friends than staying in the hotels and you can still get a good night’s sleep as we don’t have the disturbance of a night club below us!

"Fantastic view, clean new apartments and excellent service."

Thank you to everyone at the Galway Bay Sea View Apartments. We had a fantastic trip. The view from the apartments was amazing. My mother was able to watch and wave to us from the balcony while we were down on the beach playing with the children and my little lad though he was on a boat one morning! The apartments have everything you need and there are plenty of shops nearby. Although if you are going down for the week with the family, you might want to stock up on the essentials before arriving, it'll be cheaper and you can hit the prom straight away! Lovely restaurants in Salthill, we were given some good suggestions on arrival and there were plenty of brochures and maps in reception advertising what to do in Galway. We'll be back next year.

You are very welcome. The views are amazing aren't they! Hopefully see you again soon.

"Perfect Location - Great Apts"

We are just back from a 4 day stay in these great apartments, wish it was longer! 2 Adults & 2 kids aged 5 and 2 and it was just perfect. Location was great only a 5 min walk to all attractions in Salthill and straight across the road from the beach, makes life very easy with 2 small kids. Bus right outside door if you want to take a short ride into Galway city. Apartments are bright and spacious and very clean. View is amazing from living room. Few nice touches of leaving out tea facilities, towels etc for arrival. Would recommend for both families & couples. Staff very helpful.

Thank you for our first review! We really appreciate the feedback. We love having families to stay. Since your visit we have added a small library to the lobby, we have a selection of childrens books and board games available, as well as some light reading for the adults. Come back and see us again next near.
