The Western Ireland region

Galway City as well as the Galway County offers its visitors a lot of attractions. The historic ‘City of the Tribes’ itself is a lovely and vibrant place with bustling streets and outgoing people. After a full day of sightseeing, hiking or playing golf you can rest in a cosy and friendly atmosphere of the city’s pubs and restaurants. During the summer months, Galway becomes the home of exceptional entertainment events like the Galway Races or the Galway Arts Festival. Its location makes it a perfect base for tours to Connemara , the magnificent Cliffs of Moher and other sights in counties of Mayo and Clare.

All three counties surrounding Galway are soaked in history and studded with amazing castles and mansions, which differ not only in size and shape but also setting and atmosphere. Some of them are surrounded by beautiful gardens suitable for walks and rest, whilst others are perched on hillsides. Among the most beautiful are The Abbeyglen Castle, The Lynch’s Castle, and Ashford castle.

Galway City, especially the area of Quay Street, is famous for the vibrant nightlife. The cobblestone streets are lined with restaurants, cafes and pubs which offer a mixture of traditional and modern-day entertainment. The music played ranges from club dance to traditional Irish/Céili.

During the summer months Galway becomes a melting pot of cultures and the home of many famous festivals. The Galway Film Fleadh attracts directors, actors, cinematographers and artists from different countries and backgrounds. The Galway Arts Festival presents an international programme of theatre, spectacle, dance, visual arts, music, literature & comedy involving hundreds of artists and performers. The Galway Race Week is the largest and longest horse racing festival in Europe. The atmosphere is full of fun and excitement. Every evening after the races, the city centre becomes a meeting ground for socialising and entertainment .

Many thanks for your thoughtful feedback - we appreciate all guest comments and suggestions. We do apologize for the issue you had with one of the showers in your apartment. Unfortunately maintenance issues do occasionally arise and we do our best to resolve any problems reported to us in the most timely manner possible. We also investigate all fire alarms that occur in the building, and unfortunately the aforementioned incidents were due to guests late night cooking. We take on board all feedback received, and hope to see you again in the future.

"Tired and shabby"

We were very disappointed. First, we were given a 6 pm check in which is unheard of! We arrived at 3 pm, so we were not happy. Second, the apartment we were given was a pokey little corner apartmen… More

Thank you for your comments, we appreciate all feedback. To save any further confusion, just to clarify - our check in time is between 2pm-6pm, and we request our guests approximate arrival time in advance so that we may try our best to prioritize the cleaning of our apartments ready for all arrivals. You had provided us with an arrival time of 'before 6pm', and unfortunately when you arrived at 3pm your apartment was still being cleaned. We did however have the apartment ready for you within 30 minutes. Regarding the size of the apartment, the layout of our one bedroom apartments are more narrow and compact than our 2 bedrooms - though most guests find there is still ample space for up to 2 people to be comfortable. Our location in the centre of the busy Salthill Promenade is one of our key selling points to our guests along with our close proximity to the beach front. Unfortunately this central location does of course come with an unavoidable level of street noise during certain hours, which some guests are more sensitive to than others. We are sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied with your apartment, and always encourage our guests to come to our reception staff should there be any issues during their stay. We take on board all of your comments and always strive to make improvements for our guests. We hope to see you again in Salthill, and wish you all the best.
