Located in Roslagen in a beautiful part of the Stockholm archipelago. Lots of uninhabited islands nearby to visit, as well as Ängsö National Park.
Most of the cottage has 3 meters from floor to ceiling. The cottage has a living room and kitchen/dining area. From here there is an extra door to the terrace (18 m2) overlooking the sea. Outdoor dining furniture as well as sun chairs. There is a barbecue for when you want to grill outside.
Bedroom with high standard beds: 2 single built in bunk beds (200x90 cm each) + 1 double bed (200x160 cm). All are new spring beds. Maximum occupancy 4+2 people (4 in bedroom + 2 in living room in a new high quality bed sofa 160x200 cm).
Hallway with built in cabinets for clothes. New bathroom (8 m2) with shower, floor heating, washing machine and water toilet. The photos in this presentation are from 2013 and 2014.
Easy access to lots of uninhabited archipelago islands were you may explore, fish, bring picnics etc. Good fishing area (no license required – fish from pier and boat with rods/lures provided by us). Rowing boat with new 5 hp motor + family size canoe for 2-4 persons included. Beautiful nearby areas for forest walks.
Electricity, water, sheets, towels and departure cleaning incl in rent. The garden borders a meadow. Private parking next to house. High speed WiFi, free of charge 24 hours per day, 50 meters from cottage (can be used in your parked car or in the garden).
Calm area. The property where the cottage is located was originally developed in 1911. The surroundings are a genuine small archipelago village.
In the costal city of Norrtalje (15 min from cottage and a popular resort among Stockholm locals) you find lots of stores, restaurants, super markets, banks, post office, movie theatre, museums etc. Norrtalje/Stockholm bus stop is 350 meters from cottage.
Within 30 min drive: Three 18-hole golf courses, horseback riding, museums, living Viking village, Furusund (Astrid Lindgrenssummer home). Day trips to the Finish island Åland by Viking Line ferry located 20 min from Cottage.
Driving distances: Penningby Castle 5 min, Norrtälje 15 min, Furusund 20 min, Vaxholm 50 min, Stockholm Arlanda Airport 55 min, Stockholm city center 60 min, Uppsala 70 min, Skavsta Airport (Ryan Air) 120 min.
The 40" TV has over 300 channels from 3 satellites: Viasat, Astra and Hot Bird. Channels in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish etc. Many movie channels, Disney Channel, EuroSport, Animal Planet, Cartoon Network, National Geographic etc.
Please note: Minimum stay is 3 days, except for June, July and August. These three summer months we only rent by the week with Saturday as change over day.
No pets please. No smoking in cottage.

TIPS ON GETTING TO US:
Low fare airline Norwegian flies to Stockholm Arlanda Airport located 65 km from cottage (this is Swedens largest airport). Most of the major international car rental firms are found here. You may also go by bus from Arlanda to the cottage (you change bus in Norrtälje to Hysingsvik).
Ryan Air flies to Stockholm Skavsta Airport located 2 hours drive from cottage. This airport has a few of the international car rental firms. It is quite possible to take public transportation from Skavsta to the cottage (bus to central Stockholm, subway to Tekniska Högskolan, bus to Norrtälje, bus to Hysingsvik). A few airlines fly to small Bromma Airport, 80 km from the cottage.
Stockholm, Norrtälje, Roslagen, Hysingsvik
From Stockholm Arlanda Airport (about 65 km). Drive towards Norrtälje (signs from airport). On E18, just outside Norrtälje, take road 276 south towards Åkersberga. Drive 10 km. In Penningby, take a left towards Furusund. Drive approximately 4 km. You now see a small inlet of the Baltic on your right as you enter Hysingsvik. After approximately 1 km, take a right towards HYSINGSVIKS BRYGGA. Drive 300 meters until the end of the road. The house is right before the pier (pier is "brygga" in Swedish). Welcome!

The Svealand region
The cottage is located in the middle of the Stockholm archipelago yet on the mainland with easy car access. One hours drive from Stockholm. Stockholm is a beautiful capital built on 14 islands linked together by 57 bridges. Here you find lots of historic sites, opera houses, museums (including the world famous completely intact Wasa warship from 1628 as well as the new Photography museum) and of course restaurants and shopping. Be sure to see the old town and the City Hall where the Nobel price dinner is held each year. In central Stockholm there is a nice amusement park (Gröna Lund) located right on the water. There is also a very large combined zoo/outdoor cultural museum called Skansen located next to the amusement park. Stockholm has 1,4 million inhabitants.
One hour from the cottage is also the University town of Uppsala. Uppsala´s cathedral is the biggest church structure in Sweden. The large university here is over 500 years old. In Uppsala you can visit the Viking Museum and the big Viking Hills (graves where Viking kings found their final rest along with their ship). Another interesting place outside Uppsala is the home of Carl von Linné (1770-1778). Linné is one of the fathers of modern ecology and he is known as the father of modern taxonomy.
15 min drive from the cottage is the costal town of Norrtälje with many restaurants, bars/pubs, lots of stores, historic court house, playgrounds, public tennis courts, hospital, guest harbour. Norrtälje has a population of 18 000 and is a popular summer resort among Stockholm locals. The town has one of Sweden´s best cheese stores.
14 km from the cottage you also find Furusund (summer home of famous authors August Strindberg and Astrid Lindgren who wrote Pippi Longstocking). From here you can take day-trips on passenger boats to the outer islands in the Stockholm archipelago.
In the harbour of Kappelskär (20 min drive from cottage) there are several large ferries for taking day-trips to Åland ( Finland´s largest island, the people here speaks Swedish and have their own local parliament).
Distance from cottage to the historic Penningby castle is 4 km. Historic Wira Bruk, iron-works founded in 1630, is located 25 km from cottage. Nice to walk around along the small river and old houses. They also have a small museum and museum shop.

"confortable et dépaysant"
