THE HOUSE

"Pithari", a wonderful, traditional stone house built in 1946, is in the small picturesque village of Skalohori and nestled on a slope on the north-west side of Lesvos, within easy reach of some of the major tourist spots and best beaches of this beautiful island. The completely renovated two-storey semi-detached house can comfortably accommodate 5 people and lends itself to year-round holidays.

There are three bedrooms, two double and one single. Upstairs (entry from the front door at ground level) a hallway leads to the light-filled master bedroom and bathroom and then to the living room and a compact but fully-equipped kitchen. The small fireplace and exposed stone is the focal point of the cosy combined dining and lounge room. The French doors lead out to a wonderful stone-paved terrace of 25 square metres. You may, in fact, spend most of your time here as there is an outdoor setting with umbrella and daybed.

A wooden and iron staircase leads downstairs (entry is also possible from the lock-up garage) to a very spacious twin bedroom, a further single bedroom, and a full bathroom. All bedrooms have built-in robes and storage area. The back door leads to the garage.

The house has central heating but is not air-conditioned. This is because even in the hottest summer days, the altitude of the village and its micro-climate mean that it is cooler than the surrounding areas. The house also receives a cool breeze from the sea and there is a wall mounted fan in the living room.

NOTE: Free Wi-Fi access is available in peak months; the nearby local café offers free Wi-Fi all year round.
