Les Pins du Phare Holiday Home is located only a short walk from the lovely beaches of La Tranche sur Mer. Ideally situated for family holidays, with a private pool and south facing garden, it is only a 10 minute walk to the bustling centre of this seaside resort town.
The villa sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms and has a newly installed modern kitchen. There is a dining area in the living room and also a table & chairs on the covered patio in the garden for al fresco dining.
La Tranche is a fantastic location for water sports and outdoor activities, and has lots of entertainment for all the family throughout the summer - mostly within walking distance! There are many cycle paths and running tracks nearby, as well as picnic areas in thesurrounding pine forests.

The house has been tastefully decorated and is contempory in style. There is an open plan ground floor leading out to the patio and pool area. There is also a second smaller lounge with TV and PS2 to keep the children amused.
The TV has UK and French channels and Wi-Fi access is available on the ground floor.
In the hallway there is plenty of storage and a separate WC.
3 of the bedrooms are on the first floor and each has an en-suite shower room with shower, hand basin and WC. There is a stair gate for the security of your children. The fourth bedroom, a double, is on the ground floor and would be suitable for guests with limited mobility. (It also has an en-suite shower room.)
In the basement there is a table tennis table and tents that can be used on the beach.
The washing machine is located in the basement as well.

There is a private off-road area for parking, along with space for a further 2 cars in front of the house.
In the rear garden you will find a 9m x 5m swimming pool (1.1m at the shallow end and 1.8m at the deep end). There is an alarm for the pool for the security of your children and new for 2012, there is a security barrier separating the pool and patio area.
The covered patio area is a great place for al fresco dining and a charcoal barbecue is available for your use.
There is also a sand pit and sun loungers for relaxing. The garden is south facing and is not overlooked by other houses.
- Smoking is not allowed in the house, but is allowed in the al fresco dining area.
- Refundable breakages deposit of £200 required and will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
- 30% of rental fee is due on booking to secure your stay.
- Remaining 70% is payable 8 weeks prior to your stay
For high season the changeover day is a Saturday, but we are able to be more flexible outside of these summer dates. We can also accommodate long winter lets, so please call us for more details.
A 30% deposit will be required to secure the reservation with the remaining payment being made 8 weeks prior to the start of your stay.
A £100 security deposit cheque is also required against any damages to the property.
We are able to accept payment by direct bank transfer, in Sterling, Euros or via a PayPal account. (Please note that if paying by PayPal, a 3% charge will be added to cover the PayPal fees)

Les Pins du Phare Holiday Villa is located only 400 metres from the beach in the seaside town of La Tranche sur Mer in the Vendée region of France. The Vendée is noted for being the 2nd sunniest part of France after the Mediterranean coast, with over 2000 hours of sunshine each year!
La Tranche is a bustling coastal resort and the villa is located in a quieter residential suburb - only a 10 minute walk from the centre, with all of its bars, restaurants, shops and entertainment. The area is popular with the French and the British and is a great base for surf lovers, as there are some fantastic surfing & body boarding beaches only a short drive away. This is a great area for all outdoor activities - with miles of cycle paths, running tracks and guided walking areas.
Further afield, the cathedral town of Luçon is good for shopping, restaurants and site seeing. The old port of La Rochelle is only an hour away and there you will find a world class Aquarium, great site seeing & shopping and entertainment stretching into the evenings around the harbour.
The La Tranche sur Mer / Le Phare area
In summer, La Tranche comes alive! There is a twice weekly market selling lots of good local produce and often there are summer fayres and antique markets as well. The town has many restaurants, catering for all tastes and seafood is a great speciality - with oysters and mussels freshly landed each morning.
In the evenings, the town has lots of entertainment for all ages, ranging from music & dancing in the bars, to full-blown 'Summer Shows', as well as discos and lots of organised entertainment on the beaches.
The beach at Le Phare is only a short walk from the Villa and this is a great place for water sports - with surf schools, sailing, body boarding and kite surfing all close by. The villa is also near to the pine forests, with its many picnic areas and pathways.
Sea fishing boats leave La Tranche every morning and there is a ferry/site seeing boat that takes you from La Tranche to La Rochelle and Fort Boyard.

The town of La Tranche sur Mer is approximately a 50-60 minute drive from La Rochelle Airport and 80 minutes from the airport at Nantes. Both airports are served by budget airlines such as Ryanair, FlyBe, EasyJet and Jet2.
Car hire is available at both airports.
If you are binging your own car with you, then St malo is the closest of the northern ferry ports - at only 3.5 hours away. Caen is 4.5 hours away, Cherbourg is 5.5 hours away and Calais is 6.5 hours away.

A really well equipped and comfortable house - even had lots of sharp knives and proper wooden chopping boards! Wifi was offline when we arrived due to a recent storm but the property managers couldn't have been more helpful or quick to fix it. We didn't venture further than the beach, the Phare boulangerie and the supermarket, all of which were very close by. The kids especially loved the beach - very clean and spacious with lots of rock pools to investigate at low tide. The sea was a lovely temperature, much warmer than the pool!

Really good house. Kitchen very well equipped for 8 people so really good for families who like to cook. Very good restaurant just a couple of hundred yard away. A little away from other shops/restaurants in a quiet residential area but just a short walk to a spectacular beach. Good well-stocked supermarket (Super U) very close - but sometimes ridiculously busy, especially Saturday afternoon/early evening. La Tranche a comfortable walk away - also extremely busy at times.
