It has a large private indoor swimming pool and sunbathing area facing the pool, with a solar shower. There is a covered gazebo area if you prefer a little shade, with seating for 10 people and sun loungers if you prefer a little sun. It offers fantastic views over open countryside, has its own private lake stocked with fish and is set within 2 acres of landscaped gardens.
Set in a hamlet called Ligne adjacent to the village of St Valerien and close to St Hermine which has a supermarket, bakery, restaurants, chemist & Doctors. The town of Fontenay le Comte is only a 16km drive away.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region
The local micro climate makes the southern vendee one of the sunniest areas in France.
Vendee Beaches- The coast of the Vendee and Poitou-Charentes is well known for it's fine sandy beaches and good weather. Many beaches are well within a 60 min drive away.
The Puy du Fou- In the north of the Vendee (just 45 mins away) this theme park is based on the history of the area, displaying events through live re-enactments of the highest quality; this is absolutely fabulous and many guests visit more than once. Dont miss this!
La Rochelle-A beautiful and historic city just 60 mins away. The port is busy with yachts and vessels and from here you can go to the quay which has excellent restaurants. The 17th century town centre has extensive shopping facilities. The aquarium is the largest in Europe and has thousands of species from all over the world.
Wine- The local wines of the Vendee are well worth testing, ther are a number of vineyards locally that offer tasting and direct sale.
Fontenay le Comte / St Valerien area
'Moulin De Guinche' is situated in a Hamlet called Ligne; it is peaceful but not isolated and is near the village of St Valerein which has a small bar/shop.
Nearby is the village of Thire which has a fantastic Pizza bar, you can either eat in or take away.
Ste Hermine- At the main crossroads on the N137 ther is an imposing World War 1 memorial featuring the politician Georges Clemenceau and several poilus-the affectionate nick name for french soldiers of 1914-18. Ste Hermine's other small treasures are hidden, but include a handsome, privately owned chateau nera the church. On Friday morning, an attractive 19th century market hall hosts the market.
St-Juire-Champion-Situated 4km north east of Ste Hermine and 8 km form Moulin De Guinche, it is a pretty village with a fantastic restaurant! A must if you are visiting the area.
La Tranche sue mer- 32km south west of Lucon, It has 13km of sandy beaches and is a popular family resort and is a paradise for surfers and wind surfers.
Merchant Forest-The forest and lakes of the Merchant/Vouvant forest have over 12,000 acres of woodland and are just a 15km drive.
La Venise Vert -(Green Venise) with its canals and tree lined waterways, a fantastic day out. Boats can be hired and a rowing experince you will not forget. Enjoy a relaxed meal by the canal side and watch the world go by.
Fontenay le Comte a 16 km drive from Moulin De Guinche has historic building and many shops and restaurants.

Ryan Air flights to La Rochelle from Dublin and Stanstead. 1 hour drive from La Rochelle. Ryan Air flights from Birmingham to Poitiers (1 1/4 hr drive) Easyjet flights to Nantes from Gatwick or flights to La Rochelle from Stanstead. Flybe flights to La Rochelle from Birmingham. House is within easy reach of French ports of Caen, St Malo, Cherbourg, Boulogne, Calais. etc. Fastest is Caen or St Malo - allow 3 hrs, Calais 6 hours.

Further details indoors: Moulin De Guinche has been completley refurbished to a very high standard and is new for Summer 2008 . This includes a brand new kitchen, new King size and Single beds and new furniture throughout the villa.
The swimming pool room has been fitted with new doors and windows, this has also been completely re-decorated throughout.
The property has two floors; on the upper floor there is a large Dining Kitchen (seats 10 easily) , Lounge, large Bathroom and a Bedroom; this to take full advantage of the beautiful landscaped gardens and Lake. There are four bedrooms on the lower floor, along with a shower room and one bedroom having en-suite facilities.
NOTE: All five bedrooms have ceiling fans.
Outside there is a large terrace and BBQ area with seating for 10 people.
The indoor swimming pool is situated within its own building, leading outdoors to a solar shower, a wonderful sunbathing area with sun loungers and seating for 10 people under a gazebo if you would prefer a little shade.
Further details outdoors: The lake is fully stocked with fish so that you can enjoy a relaxing days fishing. The garden has many beautiful trees and fruit trees.
