Lake Arenal Fun Guest House also called Casa de Helena is an enchanting , private, Mediterranean style guest house just ten minutes drive from the lake shore in the hills over looking Lake Arenal in Guanacaste Costa Rica. It is a very romantic space for two and many people have taken their honeymoon here. We can also accommodate a group of up to 6 people such as a family or close friends. With two double queen beds, two couch beds. Each person over 2 is an additional 10 USD per night. There are two additional cabins on the private lower garden area to accommodate larger groups.

We are only about 5 minutes drive from three very good restaurants.

The roads to reach here are all paved and the route is easy to find. The area is clean, safe and breathtakingly beautiful.

Water is clean and pure, some of the best on earth fresh and sweet for drinking.

US. dollars can be used in Costa Rica. And there are local bank tellers machines which give either dollars or Colonies. Exchange rate is better at the banks than at the airport.

The central house is surrounded by covered porches and garden area, with comfortable seating for watching birds and other wild life in the jungle below. The house is also fully screened. There are two orthopedic queen size beds one, two orthopedic foam couch beds built in beside fire place . There is a full kitchen a covered porch, breakfast nook with comfortable rocking chairs for watching birds and other wild life in the jungle below the house.There is Private bathroom and also out door shower in a patio area of the house.

We also have laundry service and you may order delicious home made tamales from our neighborhood school support projects.

I recommend that you shop for groceries on the way to the house. There is a small grocery store in the village.

The nearest airport is Liberia International LIR But you may also fly in to San Jose International airport.

I recommend renting a car because there is so much to see and do in this amazingly fun and beautiful area of Costa Rica. I also have two really great professional drivers who pick up my guests from either airport. They even wait while you go shopping for groceries on the way up to the Lake. They can take you on private tours which is great for small groups. You have only to relax and really enjoy the enchanting beauty and majesty of the live erupting volcano, hot springs, jungle and waterfall hikes on well groomed easy trails.

The drives around the lake are absolutely beautiful. And even walking down the street in my village there are a breathtaking views of the volcano and lake.

Local activities include, beautiful hikes just out the front door, hanging bridges tour, an easy hike over huge bridges suspended over the rainforest canopy, zip line tours, kayaking, horseback riding, and lessons, windsurfing and kiting and lessons, hot springs, Maleku Rainforest Indian adventure, a short jungle walk to their native house where they dance, sing and explain their traditions. They sell beautiful hand carved masks and painted gords there also. There is also one of the best gift shops in the province just 20 minutes away. Monica the owner has unusual and high quality pottery, and unique hand made crafts and other treasures.

Great, private, cozy place, but too far from everything

How do damage deposits work?

If Helena (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
