Les Tourterelles (The Turtledoves) has been converted from an old timber framed barn into a building reminiscent of the medieval houses of Troyes. It is situated in the charming village of Eclance,on the borders of the ‘Côte de Bar’ and the Champagne Route. It is one of four cottages that line a courtyard.
The large oak beams have been exposed wherever possible as have the limestone walls giving the rooms a certain charm. The first floor is constructed from oak floorboards.
In the large sitting room/dining room, a wood burner nestles in the chimney place providing additional heat and ambience if you so desire. There is a separate, well equipped kitchen.
The main bedroom with an exposed stone wall has a king size bed and satellite TV along with en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, handbasin and toilet as well as a hairdryer. The second bedroom with double aspect windows has two single beds though is large enough to accommodate a third if requested. A large shower room is available. The third bedroom has french windows with a Juliette balcony and an en-suite shower room with toilet and handbasin.
The pricing provided is for six people. Should you want to accommodate 7 people, please contact Sarah for the addition of an extra single bed, price on application.

Further details outdoors
The large outdoor heated pool is available for use from mid-May to mid-September. It is surrounded by a wall that provides privacy and shelter as well as security for young children running around in the garden. Adults are responsible for their children when they use the pool. The pool face south making the most of the sunshine and when you are tired of swimming, sunbathing, snoozing or reading that novel, just wander around and soak up the panorama around you of the hills, fields and forests.
There is a petanque/boules court and there are two sets of boules available for you play under the shade of trees. There is a table tennis table with bats and balls on a terrace that provides lighting in the evenings.
A BBQ terrace is situated beside the large limestone barn with a chimenea so that for late into the evening you get the refracted heat from the barn along with the cheery and warm atmosphere from the burning wood (regardless if it is not cool enough to warrant lighting the fire!). The tables and chairs can be moved from this area to under the trees if you prefer to eat in during the day in the shade of the trees.
For quiet contemplation, your own space or a lovely place to have an aperatif at the end of the day watching the sun set over the fields and forests, there are two terraces at the end of the garden.
The roads around Eclance are generally very quiet and we find them great for cycling. Should you prefer mountain bike riding, there are many tracks through the forests, fields and vineyards. You are welcome to bring your own bikes or you may prefer to hire them locally. There are a couple of bike hire shops nearby.
If walking is more to your taste, there are some very good routes in the surrounding area - suggested itineraries are available.
