Northern France region

The North East of France is a mix of different influences and cultures. Conveniently close to British ferry ports, the north coast offers dramatic chalk cliffs and quiet seaside resorts. It is a peaceful region, steeped in history from the medieval wonder of Amiens Cathedral to memorials for the soldiers who fought here in World War One. On the cobbled streets of the Nord Picardie region, which borders on Belgium and boasts the ancient cities of Lille and Arras, you can sample the region’s hearty stews and delicious fresh seafood as well as the local Flemish beers.

The famous Champagne-Ardennes region offers an array of outdoor activities such as hiking, horse-riding and watersports as well as a rich and varied landscape. The Alsace-Lorraine area has a distinctively Germanic feel, with historic cities such as Nancy and Metz and the European hub of Strasbourg. You can also enjoy the tranquil beauty of the Moselle and Meuse Valleys and the forests of the Vosges Mountains, where there is excellent skiing in winter. The area’s rolling vineyards produce world-renowned wines and local cuisine offers more delights than an authentic quiche lorraine.

"Terrific Home in the Champagne region"

This is one of the best homes we have rented in France. We usually go to France during the first week of September and rent a home for a week. We haven't been disappointed yet, but this home fi… More

"First class holiday accommodation"

We have just spent a week in this wonderfully furnished and comfortable accommodation. The house provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the towels and linen were really first class. The kitchen has every possible utensil you could need, and cooking is made more enjoyable because of the available herbs in the garden. The décor was designed with the utmost attention to detail and we found the whole experience very relaxing. Isabelle made us feel very welcome and was available to answer any queries we had. We have taken many holidays in France and this accommodation is certainly the best we have ever stayed in.

"Beautiful house"

A lovely house and garden, rather like staying in a magazine film shoot, everything was beautiful and thoughtfully chosen. Isabelle was a lovely attentive and helpful host, nothing was too much trouble.

"A delightful house in a very authentic Champagne village"

The house is just beautiful although at times a bit noisy with the traffic through the village. Dormans had all we needed, shops, restaurants, lovely walks ( to the chateau, war memorial and cemetry), located on a river, easy walking distance to other villages, right on the Champagne route so great to hire a bike in the village and venture out for the day, hiring a car was easy as was catching a train to the large Champagne centres. A great spot to explore the Champagne area or just enjoy the beautiful kitchen and terrace at La Maison du Clos Rigaux!
