This ridge used to be the Kings hunting grounds so no building was permitted and has almost no buildings.

About this location
The Upper Carniola Region
This unique house is located around 1000m elevation and situated in The Triglav National Park, a protected nature area. It is the only tourist house on the 15km long Mezakla Ridge.Bled and it's famous lake is only 20 minutes drive from the house.All of Slovenia can be reached from here on a day trip, nowhere is further than 2 hours.
The whole ridge was a royal hunting area and building was not permitted.The house was built in 1928 for the families of the forest workers summer holidays, in prime position with a fantastic view of forest and mountains.
Now it is alive with wildlife including mountain goats, deer,pine martens, incredible variety of butterflies and moths wild flowers and of course mushrooms.
It is possible to stay in Nature but be so close to everything this fantastic country has to offer, some of the most beautiful rivers, lakes and waterfalls in Europe are here. This country never ceases to exceed everybody expectations.
With only 20 minutes or so to Bled and 25 minutes to the motorway you can make day trips easily and explore the rest of The Triglav National Park and stay far away in peace from the crowds.( our traffic rate is about 1 car an hour locals mostly with cows to look after in the summer pastures.
The weather here is hot and sunny in the summer you can go rafting, climbing, swim in crystal clear lakes, kayak and much more and in winter there is snow New year till April cross country skiing is very popular here with the World Biathlon Championships held 12 kms away at Pokljuka plus all normal winter activities downhill skiing, ice climbing, sledging , winter walking a great favorite, ski areas are very close Vogel and Kranska Gora (the most well known) are 40 minutes drive.Sledge, Nordic ski or snow shoe from the house is possible. We will help you do whatever you choose and can arrange guides/instructors.
