The Western Ireland region
The house is wonderfully located within the town and 500 yards from the beautiful River Moy. A five minute stroll along the river brings you into the town centre, where there are many traditional shops, bars and restaurants showcasing some of our fabulous local produce. Just a stones throw from the house is the wonderful town park, with basketball & tennis courts (grass & tarmac) and a great children's adventure playground. The town is also host to the Jackie Clarke Collection, Ireland's most important collection of historical material from the last 4 centuries. Over 100,000 items are housed in the musuem.... a wonderful place to visit!
The River Moy is famous for it's Salmon fishing and its most prolific beats are within walking distance of the house (Ridge Pool, Cathedral Beat, Ash Tree Pool, The Point).
Enniscrone Beach is just 10k away. There you can surf & swim along it's 5km Blue Flag strand. Fishing trips are also available from the pier. For pure indulgence we recommend a trip to Kilcullen's Seaweed Bathhouse for a steam box sauna & a soak to revive your body. Bliss! :-)
Heading west along the North Mayo Coast you will find Killala with it's perfectly preserved round tower. Further on you will discover DownPatrick Head and it's magnificent cliffs and sea stack. The Ceide Fields, Ireland's most extensive neolitic settlement, is just a few minutes on from the headland. Breathtaking!
There is so much to do and see here in Ballina and its environs. Between two 18 hole golf courses, horse riding, fishing, treking, mountain climbing, swimming, surfing etc you won't ever be bored!. But, if we could pick one activity that we would say don't leave without doing it.... it would be a Kayaking Tour with 'Paddle and Pedal'. The best fun, and an amazing adventure experience. The WILD ATLANTIC WAY is at our door step.

"Home away from home"
The house was very clean and comfortable. It's decorated like a home rather than a rental house. We all really enjoyed our stay. Gina was a pleasure to deal with.… More
