Self catering Accommodation set in a tranquil Olive grove yet 2 kms outside of the Market Town of Ansiao, Central Portugal - with all the usual amenities. 2 Bedrooms sleeps 2-5 with large airy open plan kitchen / lounge. Great place for your holiday whether it is a peaceful relaxing time just lounging by the pool, or discovering the historic Templar Towns and countryside within this diverse area. The old rural way of life can still be seen and the Portuguese friendliness is second to none. The University city of Coimbra on the river Mondego is close by as are the Templar Town of Tomar and the Pilgrim Town of Fatima, to name but a few.

The light and airy detached accommodation sleeps 2-5 consists of 2 Bedrooms with fitted wardrobes, 1 Double and 2 singles.

A 5th small person or child can be accommodated but on a fold away bed in one of the bedrooms ~ additional charge applies.

The Fully fitted Kitchen includes Fridge/Freezer, Table and chairs for four, coffee machine, Toaster and everything you would need for your self-catering Holiday. Microwave available on request.

There is one bathroom located in the House with a large walk-in shower, hand basin and Toilet. Bath towels are provided but only for use within the property. Additional pool towels are also available which can be used for the Beach.

Private sun terrace and veranda with outside dining.

Also, outside there is an additional Toilet and Shower block for your convenience.

Set in an old 1.5 acre Olive Orchard which we are restoring for future harvesting. Large drive with ample parking and gated. Also space for Petanque.

Steve and I (Tania) live on the property in another separate Wood House with our two dogs.The rental property has it's own outside dining and sunbathing terrace. The 10x5 Pool and large patio area are shared. We respect your privacy at all times.

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast/Central Portugal region

Central Portugal is thought of as the 'Green Heart' of the country. This is possibly because of the abundance of Pine and Eucalyptus forests and lush green valleys.

The Rivers Zêzere and Mondego, two of Portugal's major rivers, start and finish within the boundaries of the region and help to keep it green even in the height of summer. The countryside varies dramatically - from the sandy beaches of the Silver Coast to the rugged peaks of the Serra da Estrela mountains.

The region is not only rich in natural beauty but man-made monuments as well. There are numerous buildings of historical importance within the region including an impressive number of castles, churches with Templar connections. Two buildings not to be missed are the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo at Tomar and the historic University at Coimbra.

Ansiao and the area has plenty of Festas in the summer with a good choice of bars and restaurants.

We also provide an Information book with recommendations for local restaurants and Bars for you to visit.

The university Town of Coimbra is 30 minutes drive with good shopping and a beautiful City to explore on the river.

You also have historic Tomar, Coninbriga and Dornes to explore to name just a few sites. Stunning scenary where-ever you go .

Car is highly recommended for getting about.

"Perfect location torelax & enjoy rural Portugal"

It was my second time at Casa de Olival and again I had the most wonderful time.My first stay was in September 2013 just before the olive harvest and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Now I came b… More

It was great to have another repeat guest and very interesting to hear their views of how different it all looks here with a different season. Happy that more places were found to visit and so pleased that people are feeling at home and comfortable. We are so looking forward to the coming Year welcoming guests old and new.

"Amazing!! Rebooked August 2014"

We stayed at Casa De Olival in August 2013. After having a special holiday in Florida the year before with our 13 year old twin boys. My husband and I wondered if we would be able to match such a good time. However, we need not of worried as we all had the most amazing time. The boys loved it as did my husband because we found the prices in restaurants and supermarkets very reasonable.
It is set in beautiful peaceful surroundings but within easy reach to fabulous beaches (about 40 mins by car) and close to picturesque country river beaches.
Not only does it have the perfect setting for a get away from it all holiday but extras like the pool, football nets,football table, games, books and ps2 make it truely a home from home. A brilliant place for close family fun we have some lovely memories of our time there.
Tania and Steve are the perfect hosts with lots of information and always on hand to ask any questions. We had a fabulous pizza oven night and lots of tasty barbeques. Oh and we have to mention the adorable dogs who added character to this delightful place.
We were only home a couple of weeks and we all agreed we just had to go back. Can't wait for next August.

Having holidayed ourselves with a young family in past years we found we preferred to stay in self catering accommodation set in more private settings, as opposed to commercial Hotels catering for the masses. Some of the best places we have stayed in had furnishings and personal items such as DVD's, books, local and Tourist information etc which really made it feel like you were staying in a home rather than an empty, sparsely furnished apartment. So, with all that in mind this is what we have set out to provide with our Holiday home and gardens. Reading reviews like this makes us feel like it is all worth while. We hope when this family returns we will have more information and improvements to further enhance their holiday experience here at home and in the surrounding areas. Cam and Brad ~ the dogs and pool are waiting for you !!!

"What you see is what you get and it is super."

You need a car to travel around.
I you are looking for rest and accepteble distances to interesting places, this is the place to be.

Definitely agree that a car is needed as there are so many places of interest to go and see. We try and provide as much information as possible for places from scenic river beaches to Towns and areas rich in Culture and Historical importance. We ask holiday makers what particularly interests them so we have as much information for them when they arrive.
