Relax and unwind on our secluded property with lovely views of the surrounding countryside and out to the Pacific Ocean. Play petanque in the sheltered European style farm courtyard, meditate in our own stone circle, see the goats being milked and cheese made, collect fresh eggs from the chickens and help hand feed many of the animals.
Soak in the Jacuzzi and gaze at the stars in our very clear night skies
Guest accommodation is in a lovely private room in our home. It has separate bathroom and beautiful views of the surrounding farmland and out to the sea. Rates include home cooked breakfast and evening meal with wine. Picnic lunch available on request. We ask guests to use only organic toiletries as all greywater passes through our worm farm system. We can provide basic organic toiletries and options for using fresh herbs from our therapeutic herb garden.
Our aim is self sufficiency while nurturing the environment. We grow our own vegetables, and hand raise friendly animals for eggs, milk and meat. Guests stay in a lovely room in our modern farmhouse with separate facilities. Our modern well insulated farmhouse has a passive solar design with solar electricity and hot water and a wood oven for heating, cooking and hot water. Meals are freshly prepared on the large wood fired cooker in our open plan country kitchen with great home grown food and seasonal produce from the garden
Our friendly animals include milking goats and their delightful and precocious kids, pet sheep, chickens ducks geese, a lovely pig and a retired sheepdog. There are usually lambs to bottle feed from late August until December.
AislingQuoy is a relaxed setting away from busy roads yet close to major attractions. We are on the inland scenic route at the edge of the Alpine pacific triangle with easy access to Kaikoura, Hanmer springs, Christchurch and Akaroa. Only 40minutes from Christchurch interenational airport and the local Waipara wine trail is only 15 minutes away. We can give you recommendations or take you on a customized wine tour. Amberley is only 9km away and has a great farmers market every Saturday morning.
