“Fabulous stay at Petraki II” I booked Patraki II for our 25th wedding anniversary trip with another couple and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay! The apartment was just as the pictures portrayed with everything that you could need for an extended stay and the view from the rooftop terrace was amazing. No need to wait in the crazy lines to climb to the top of Galata Tower! Monika met us at the apartment as planned and made sure we were all settled before leaving and Duygu was a wonderful guide for our neighborhood tour. Both women are quite lovely. The metro cards attached to the keys were very handy. The building is in a wonderful vibrant neighborhood with many restaurants and shops, and no hotels that I can recall so we were living along side the locals. There are also a couple of small grocers with in a block or two. Our overall experience was excellent and if we ever find ourselves in Istanbul again, we will most definitely stay in one of Tarken and Julia's apartments!

“Lovely apartment in fantastic neighborhood” My family of six ( including 4 young adults) had a wonderful stay. Everyone loved the apartment, especially having gorgeous views of the Bosphorus from the living room and two bedrooms. The location was perfect- we were able to walk almost everywhere and we were also close to public transportation. The neighborhood has huge variety of restaurants and cares. The apartment was an excellent value. I highly recommend although for some a third floor walk- up could be an issue.

“Don't even think of staying in a hotel in the Sultanahmet and here's why.....” This is our first time visiting Turkey and as most do, our first stop was in Istanbul. When planning our trip my US travel agent working with a Turkish travel agency had us booked into a rather posh hotel in the old district of Sultanahmet. Because we are four (my spouse, and two college age kids in addition to myself) and because we would be staying 5 nights, I wanted to stay in an apartment vs a sterile hotel. I usually opt to do this when we travel because you have more room, use of a washer and dryer and the ability to cook in if you need a break from eating every meal out. I could not have chosen any better. The apartment was literally within spitting distance of the Galata Tower and the neighborhood had much more to offer in the evening, as opposed to the old district. We had a vendor right outside our door selling fresh simits that we would enjoy with some cream cheese and our coffee each morning. The apartment had everything we needed to be comfortable. They also provided laundry powder, coffee, sugar, s&p- so you did not need to go and buy these items when you only needed a small amount for your stay. This is not the case in the apt. we are currently staying in Bitez. I had to buy soap, sugar, coffee and laundry powder and will donate it to the maids when we depart. later this morning. Access to the funicular and the metro were easy. Easy walk up to Taksim square as well. If staying in a sterile hotel room with less space, just being surrounded by hotel staff and other tourists is your thing then you are all set. However, if you want to get a better sense of Istanbul and the people who live there then stay here. Another positive, you will also save considerably, assuming you would have stayed in a rather nice hotel. You can use those savings to hire a private guide, or better yet stay another day or two in Istanbul and go visit the Asian side one day, etc.

“An awesome place, vibrant city and great food!” It was our first time to Istanbul and we couldn't be more pleased with everything we experienced. The city and people are just beyond our imagination. We were greeted by a wonderful lady named Duygu. She went over the apartment with us and gave us tips to go around the city. The apartment was modern in a very old building. We loved the exposed brick wall, comfy beds, clean white sheets and fully furnished kitchen. Location is convenient to everything from grocery stores, restaurants, money changer, bakeries and most of all the famous tower in Istanbul, Galata tower. Fine restaurants as well as simple eaters are right around the tower and walking distance, serving exquisite turkish doners, lamacuns, chicken skewers & kebab. Fresh fruit juices extract (pomegranate, orange, carrot...), all natural nothing else added, can be had for 2-4 TL. From the apartment we walked thru the alleys downhill to a main street leading to Galata bridge where we crossed by foot to explore Spice Market and the Grand Bazaar. We felt absolutely safe walking the alleys. We also hopped on the tram "T1" at Galata bridge point and ventured further out to University place, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Attached to the 2 keys are 2 tram cards which we loaded up fares at the shop right by the bridge. Tram fares are 1.5TL using the card versus 3TL/trip if you purchase tokens. Thoughtful touch by Duygu/apt management to provide the tram cards! There's a terrace atop the apt offering a scenic view of the city, overlooking Galata bridge and spice market. great picture taking spot! Cats are common and appear to be gently fed and cared for by all the locals. At one restaurant, as we dined, a cat actually jumped on our lap like we're best friends and just stayed there to be cuddled. On check-out, Duygu/Azir offered to arrange for a larger taxi (mini-van like) to take us to the airport. Again that was a nice touch and much appreciated.

“Love this apartment” I can't say enough great things about this apartment. It's incredibly beautiful, spacious, has everything you need to feel at home... we absolutely loved it. the experience from my initial inquiry until we were seen off into a taxi was first rate. There is definitely a nightclub across the street but they do a great job of soundproofing and we hardly heard it. didn't even use the earplugs we brought. It's in a really fantastic neighborhood filled with shops and bars and restaurants - a super fun part of town. we couldn't have been happier with the apartment.

“wonderful experience. once more... thanks!” we've stayed at pasha flat about four year ago and it was a super-good experience. really made our stay in istanbul so special -- especially as we came with two young children (9 and 7 at the time) and it was so convenient to stay "at home", leave "home" come back "home" etc. Was really super. So when we planned our trip to Istanbul this time round, i immediately knew istanbul!place would be my first port of call. took time to get their reply (it was election time...) so i searched and searched, a bit worried they may have shut down and left business. But that's why, when Tarkan emailed... i was sooo relieved. i felt like our stay in istanbul is a sure success already. And it was. from a to z. we got a smaller flat this time, but just right for our needs. the street was still nicer, and the flat just as nice, perhaps even better, though with none of that wonderful view. Duygu, who welcomed us, couldn't be more welcoming or helpful (including email with tons of restaurant recommendations, as requested). In short... can't recommend more heartly. and can't wait for our next istanbul visit. hopefully, much less than four years lapse in between! and... oh, istanbul! i did forget how wonderful it is. “location” The apartment is superbly located there is no where else in Istanbul location wise which makes everything so easy and possible from here! the apartment is very well set up for 2 couples to share the Kitchen is very well equipped (although our 1 pint of milk looked a bit silly in that lovely big fridge!)Bathrooms are beautiful, beds large. furniture solid. had problems using TV, but really not an issue.
