“Great house; great hosts” We spent 4 full days at the Mango Street Casita, had a wonderful experience, and could easily have stayed 4 more days. The house was clean, comfortable, spacious, and felt very safe and secluded even though it is right in the middle of Drake Bay and activities/stores/restaurants are within easy walking distance. Mario and Nichole are dedicated to all aspects of the Drake Bay community, and were very helpful in arranging tours and suggesting other activities such as beaches to visit or walks/hikes to take. They live next door to the casita, but still gave us the privacy we wanted while at the same time being very available to assist us. They even did some grocery shopping on our behalf before we arrived!

“Perfect get away” I traveled with my two children, 11 and 14 years old, and stayed in the Gecko cottage for a week. It is a beautiful setting overlooking the cost line. The bird life is full and you can spend hours just sitting on the porch. We even saw monkeys near by. The cottage is simple, peaceful and has all you need. The owners are wonderful, welcoming and helpful. We walked back from Montezuma once but the road back is quite steep so often took a taxi which are expensive for the distance. There is lots to do in the area and it is nice to be out of town and have private space. Just taking a walk or going for run right from the cottage was terrific. Gecko is right next to the owner's house but it feels private and they were generous in letting us use their pool which is fabulous, overlooking the coast. This is wonderful place, and was perfect for the three of us as a family. Loved it!

“This place is amazing...” What a way to spend some good life! I enjoyed 10 days here in august of this year and it was splendid. The hammocks are so inviting after you've had a swim at the nearby beach which is only a short stroll away. Everything you need is within walking distance as well as nearby towns and other beaches that you can ride the provided bikes to. Fruit vendors nearby on the street and bakeries, and other shops too. Far far from the maddening crowds of the city, well worth the journey. Come to La Casita, you won't regret it.

“The perfect Manuel antonio vacation haven.” The Cozy Manuel antonio Cottage was exactly what we wanted for our trip! Just off the main road, it was easy to bus either to the main beach at ma or heading the other direction towards Quepos. Peter is an excellent host! He pointed out some of the best features in the area, connected us with an excellent concierge, and had even put some delicious local pastries in the fridge for our arrival! The cottage is nested in the shade, and has two screen doors which allow for a nice cross breeze. There is internet, but it's a bit slow and sporadic. If your in Costa Rica you're wasting the experience if you're online, so treat limited internet as relaxation insurance. Down the hill path of garden stones is a beautiful pool surrounded by tall tropical trees. We had it completely to ourselves and could float around or read books poolside, with the only sound being the breeze rustling through the foliage. Peter is an easy going, hands off host, who was there anytime we needed him. It was clear that he puts a lot of effort into providing a great experience for his guests. The cottage was clean, the shower was hot, and check-in and out were easier than making coffee (which Peter also had thoughtfully placed on the counter for us). If I make it to Costa Rica again, Pete's is where I want to stay.

“Paradise” We stayed in the 2 floor cabin with two bedrooms with our son's family and had a wonderful week! The hosts (Eladio and Vanessa)and staff make you feel like family! The gracias hostess brought out toys for the grandchildren and sent fruit from their trees for us to enjoy! We loved the pool which is very clean and does not have the bleach smell. As they talked with us by the pool we learned more of Guanacaste. The birds were absolutely beautiful. We saw: White-ringed Fly Catcher, humming birds, green parrots, Blue Crowned Motmot (which is usually only down in Cabo Blanco), Morning Doves, a Baltimore Orial, Blue Grey Tanger, and Bronze head Black Bird. We went to the Volcano (Vieja)one day but it was closed due to activity. So we walked down the the nearby falls. Absolutely gorgeous. Wear your bathing suit! Another day we went to a beach near Nicaragua but the water there was too cold due to the Humbult current - like the Gulf stream up North that warms the water, this stream cools the water. I recommend Colebra! It is only 30 minutes away and absolutely beautiful. Bring your bug spray though. Only the mattresses will make you want to go home. They were a little hard, but normal for the area.
