“The Owners were delightful, helpful, knowledgeable and well organised - a lovely place to go for an autumn break.” Arrange hire car through owners - again really helpful & well-priced. Lovely taverna 20mins walk in nearest village, and owners have contact with local businesses offering shooting, guided walks etc., so great area in which to relax, or to get busy.

The perfect holiday villa

The situation of the villa, in an olive grove, was delightful, very private and very quiet. We awoke each morning to the sound of birdsong and the tinkling of sheep bells. The house was well appointed with everything one could need for a fortnight’s holiday. It is close to Almyrida, which has some excellent tavernas and a child friendly, sandy beach, though a car is advisable. Our older grandchildren would have loved it had they been with us, though the very little ones would have to be well supervised in the pool which has no very shallow end. The pool is well fenced off, however. All in all a really super spot and we would go back. … see more

The apartment was very nice and clean and it was serviced by a lovely lady every other day incuding clean towels and bed linen. The location is only a few minutes walk to the local shops, restaurants and of course the wonderful beach. Lilian made us feel very welcome. The Lemon Tree - family-friendly, 4-bed, detached villa with private pool
Relaxing break

We stayed here for 2 weeks and it was wonderful. A real home from home. The villa has everything you will need. We were collected from the airport by Sarah the housekeeper of the villa and when we arrived everything was spotlessly clean. There are loads of books to read and games to play and all you will need in the kitchen. Beach towels are provided so no need to bring those. I felt really relaxed being in a villa as you can just do your own thing and not have a pool full of inflatables and someone squashed right next to you on a lounger! We have stayed in villas before but we have always needed a car to get anywhere and this is not the case at The Lemon Tree so it was great. We did hire a car for 4 days and saw some beautiful views and places. The resort itself is very nice with restaurants all along the seafront. The beach and restaurants are a 5 minute stroll. Ideal venue for large groups

Villas Angelos and Helios set amongst the olive groves between the village of Gavalohori and the resort of Almerida provided the ideal venue for a peaceful holiday within a 5 minute drive of restaurants, shops and the beach. The villas offered spacious accomodation and large pool area allowing our group to get together in either villa. They were clean and well equipped and the management was on hand to deal with any queries. Although we had hire cars we were able to walk down to the beach when required which was useful. Lovely apartments. Absolutely spotless. Lovely hosts. In a great position above Almyrida, just a stroll down to bars and restaurants. Apartment had loads of space, good kitchen with enough pots and pans s as nd everything you need. Nice balcony with amazing views across the bay. We hired a car, organised by Maria the agent, were met at Chania airport. Car hire makes sense as taxi transfer might be €50 e/W. A car opens up the whole island and a world of places to visit and eat and sunbathe. We went to Chania Old Town, Georgopplis for a lovely beach, Kalyves, Kefalas (Maddies Taverna) and all across the White Mountains to the beautiful, quiet, unspoilt South Coast. A perfect villa situated in peaceful surroundings

We were desperate to get away despite COVID and couldn't have found a better place! The villa is perfect with plenty of space, kitchen fully equipped with everything you need and each bedroom has it's own little terrace for when you want to relax on your own away from the pool. It is so peaceful and quiet you can feel all your stresses melting away! The pool and outdoor terrace is fantastic, well maintained and has a stunning backdrop with the mountains and olive grove, and is as good as it looks in the picture. We didn't have a car however, this was not an issue as Almyrida is only 2km away where there is a beach, plenty of tavernas and a few shops. The bus to Chania from Almyrida was very cheap and definitely worth a visit. We tended to walk down to Almyrida but I would suggest a taxi back as it is quite a steep hill back to the villa. Taxi's are affordable and friendly service. I would definitely recommend this villa, the owners are very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We are planning to come back again as soon as we can and look forward to exploring more of this beautiful area. Thank you John and Tina for a lovely (much needed) holiday! … see more
