“Don't look anywhere else!” This house is situated in the most beautiful position. From every room you have the most incredible view of the ocean and the golf course. Although not golfers we walked the course in the early morning and late afternoon - it was breath taking. The house is luxurious and beautifully fitted out. It is close enough to the beaches and far enough away from the madding crowd. We will definitely go there again.!
“Spacious House with magnificent views” Magnificent views over the ocean to the majestic mountains in the distance is the sight that greets you from just about every aspect of this lovely home. The accommodation is very spacious and comfortable. The four bedrooms offer privacy when needed and the open plan kitchen/dining area and lounge is perfect for socializing and relaxing and of course gazing over the ocean with a very good chance of spotting seals, dolphins and even whales. The outdoor entertainment area has a barbecue and you can splash around in the pool watching the sun set.
Cape town is a mere 35 minute drive by car and just over an hour on the train, with the train station a 5 minute walk from the house.A shuttle bus to the V & A waterfront is located just outside the railway station. Here you will find trendy bars and restaurants, shopping and street entertainment. Various sea cruises leave from here and recommend one of the sunset cruises which include sparkling wine and wonderful views of Table Mountain as the sun sets.
Simonstown and Kalk Bay about 5 minutes away by car. We recommend the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay and Bertha's in Simonstown two restaurants that offer great food and spectacular views. Boat cruises leave from the harbour area at Simonstown and we can recommend doing the shark cage dive. The wine lands are about an hours drive from the house. We had a superb lunch at Klein Zalze but most vineyards offer good food. Also look out for vineyards that offer free wine tastings. A word of warning, alcohol is not sold in shops in Fishhoek and none sold on a Sunday except in restaurants and bars so you will need to stock up for the weekend.
We suggest you take your own binoculars as they are required as you scan the seas for sea life.
We stayed for 2 weeks and had a mid break service which was most welcome. We did arrive earlier that anticipated but the rental manager was most accommodating and let us in earlier.
Overall a fantastic stay and brilliant venue.
“As good as it gets!” Dear Denise, Peter and Tinashe
Many thanks for a splendid weekend away. The pictures don't actually do the Beach House justice as the peace, charm and tranquility is not possible to record! Definite rejuvenation therapy for our tired and stressed out bodies. The early morning beach walks, invigorating sea foam scrubs and late outdoor entertaining was most memorable.Special thanks to Peter and Tinashe for going out of their way to assist with anything we needed at any time of the day, was the small things that count!
We can't wait to return with our friends , closer to the beach we could not have been and I can still hear slight echoes of crashing waves taking me back to paradise all over again!
“A lovely holiday - all expectations fulfilled” We really enjoyed being at the Kalk Bay House - the beautiful views across to Simonstown and Fish Hoek; the delights of Kalk Bay itself and its local people;the unique accessibility of Wooley's Pool and the other lovely swimming places all in walking distance; the well equipped, attractive and spacious apartment; and the kind, helpful and unobtrusive presence of Johan and his family - there when needed. Thank you Johan, very much for all you did to make our stay such a memorable one. Simon, Marian,Sara and Jacob.
