“Wonderful” We rented HH for a family gathering and birthday celebration over Thanksgiving. We were throwing my dad a 60th birthday party with over 15 people (and a dog) and we filled in the place but had room to spare. Everyone was very comfortable, there were tons of bathrooms. The view: as soon as everyone walked in they were blown away. The pictures do not do it justice. It is spectacular. The grounds: we had so much fun just taking walks and taking in the beauty, seeing deer, and looking at the sunsets and sunrises. Everything was accessible. The kitchen had everything we needed, it was so well stocked. Clean and convenient and well thought of. Our dog was so comfy too! Everything she could need was there too. We used one of the two awesome firepits and made smores and food, we used the hot tub, we hung out at the balcony. Just didn't use the grill! I am so glad John and Sheila helped us create this amazing experience for my dad and my family :)
“This beachfront setting for our family gathering exceeded our ex” We were seeking a place where our family of 12 could gather for a week to celebrate our 50th Wedding anniversary, and we certainly found that in the Whidbey Beach Retreat. We all, including our 2 sons and their wives, plus our grandchildren - ages 20, 17, 16, 15, 9 and 7 - had great sleeping accommodations. The huge dining table made family dinners enjoyable. The media room and the game room were a great surprise. Many breakfasts and lunches were enjoyed at the huge table on the deck. The fire pit (s'more central) and the spa tub were welcome diversions. The quality of the furnishings was exceptional. We were all new visitors to Whidbey Island and each of us came away with great memories. Just watching the tides was a full time "job" and seeing the eagles, seals, hummingbirds etc was fantastic. We were able to procure eveything we needed in the way of groceries, etc at Payless in Freeland and smaller stores in Langley. We're all committed to recycling, and we were amazed how easy it was to take our bags full of soda & juice cans and wine bottles to Island Recycling on Rt. 525.
“Great location for a family reunion” We stayed at Cedar Field Vacation House on Orcas Island while attending a family wedding. The house is in a beautiful rural location, very quiet and spacious enough to have family close or separate as needed. The two kitchens are a real plus. The decks provide a great place to look out over the countryside and the beautiful natural garden at the house. There is also a wonderful play area in the field with a pond, badminton and various other game equipment. We'd all go back in a shot!
